Shelby Miller Opts Out Of 2020 Season

By Jeff Todd | August 3, 2020 at 3:03pm CDT

Righty Shelby Miller has opted out of the 2020 season, the Brewers announced. He had been working out at the team’s alternative training site.

Miller, once an exciting young MLB hurler, has fallen on hard times on the mound of late. He has thrown only 82 innings in the majors over the past three seasons due to a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness.

The Brewers had inked Miller to a minor-league pact in hopes of unlocking some of his former promise. Now, we’ll have to wait and see whether Miller elects to mount another comeback attempt next spring.

Miller joins a still-growing list of players who have opted out of the campaign.

He was actually looking pretty decent in camp. Hopefully he comes back .I think he will rebound with another team. As far as the Brewers I think its time to give Supak , Ashby, Barker, Brown and Bickford as the possible next call ups

The headline should have read….”Hey, it’s me Shelby Miller. Over here! Remember me? I still exist.”

If you can throw 95, you still got a chance. Someone will have the answer.

Interesting thing is, even if he never throws another pitch professionally in his life, he’s accomplished more than every one of these posters cracking jokes about him.
