Huh. I thought they signed Alex Cora to be the utility guy because they thought Hairston’s price would be too high. Now they are getting both of them?
This just in Phillies have completely given up on trying to compete in the NL East. They will begin dismantling their roster very soon. Rest of the East to follow shortly thereafter.
I’m wondering now, if the Mets and Nats get into a bench-clearing brawl who’d hit who first between Scott & Jerry?
Cora’s was a MILD so as long as Jerry’s a MILD as well you can’t go wrong with a little bit of competition. I did like Cora’s veteran presence when he was with the Mets so it could prove beneficial for the younger guys like Ian Desmond.
