Angels Closer To Adding Bullpen Depth

By Tim Dierkes | December 7, 2011 at 2:40pm CDT

The Angels are "getting closer to solving some of our desire to get deeper in the bullpen," if anything, GM Jerry Dipoto told reporters including MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.  Dipoto noted that he wants to find someone to complement Jordan Walden, not replace him.

I suspect the Angels will wait a little longer until there are no good options left

They must be prying Mo Rivera from the Yankees. Yanks must be trying to shed payroll.

Why sign a closer when you have Fernando Rodney?

Nevermind your attempt at sarcasm, but Rodney isn’t an Angel.

Greg Schaum, a Royals blogger, has been vocal suggesting a Soria for Ervin Santana trade (if Angels sign Wilson)…maybe?

No Thanks.  A solid starter is more valuable than a solid relief pitcher

Chris Perez from the Indians? If they’re willing to give up a quality right-handed bat for him, outfield or first base most likely, the Indians would definitely be interested
