a mere .270/.333/.297 lol. I get that the slugging percentage is bad but jeez… thats not THAT bad.
Steve Adams
Park-adjusted, it comes out to 19-21 percent below the league average, depending on your preferred metric. It’s not particularly good.
Mark 20
Yeah but saying its a “mere”… youd think you would be talking about a guy hitting .180
Rally Weimaraner
Hitting .180 and slugging .297 are pretty similar. The lowest SLG% in the MLB last year was Zack Cozart’s .300.
Mark 20
They really arent, its the difference of hitting mostly singles and getting on base, which he clearly is at .333, and not hitting at all basically.
Melvin Mendoza, Jr.
.333 is low if that’s ALL you can do
Blah blah blah
But he was hitting .270. Johnson shouldn’t be expected to have high slugging, its not the type of hitter he is. While not impressive, I think it is insulting to refer to it as “mere”.
Melvin Mendoza, Jr.
And ironically enough 30 games into this season he’s 14th in the NL at slugging

His defense and baserunning hasn’t been pristine either
Blah blah blah
I was just about to say. A better term would have been unspectacular.
Scott Berlin
Especially for being a second basemen.

Fangraphs has Micah at #23 in the ML offensively for a 2B. It has him dead last defensively (#34). It’s kinda bad
Vandals Took The Handles
Getting past the top 3 guys in the Indians order, all the others are hitting far worse….
Moss .238 – Chisenhall .221 – Swisher .200 – Bourn .222 – Perez .161 – and Ramirez .178.

Ramirez isn’t the only half of the Ramirez/Lindor whose performance is lagging so far this year. Lindor’s numbers at Triple-A are hardly making the Indians reconsider the decision to hold him in Columbus.

Terrible news about Mike’s daughter. Hope she beats it.
