you should re-tell – your winter ball A. Rizzo “pimp it out” story here sometime.
That was a great read.
Blah blah blah
Does this belong on the player’s tribune instead?

Nope!

Double nope! Good recruiting!

Nice insight and very well written. My son who was 12 at the time and who’s mildly autistic, still has a bat signed by John Baker back in 2003 when he was a member of the Kane County Cougars. Class guy.
And That
“Nearly every team thinks 2016 will be its year.”
Talk to Olney about that one.

Nice add to MLB Trade Rumors. Nice to have some insider insight.

Was always a fan of Bake when he was here with the Marlins, and rooted for him afterwards. Class act, good ballplayer, and always had the intelligence that will lead him in his endeavors now that he has called it a career

Worked with John Baker a couple times at Cal camps growing up. Dude is an absolute encyclopedia of baseball knowledge. Glad he’ll be writing.

Great article and definitely some great insight into the minds of coaching staff’s, players, and front offices alike.
This article just flooded back memories for me, when I used to play ball. Unfortunately, I can’t play anymore, but I still get to he around the game I love by umpiring.
Although, I do miss the fans cheering for me, which I can promise everyone that doesn’t happen anymore…Now, my best case scenario is getting in and out of the ball park without being noticed or looked at twice!! lol haha…
Back to the article though, there truly is nothing better than to smell the fresh cut field for the first time during Spring.
Excitement levels will not be higher than this time of year, and I can’t wait to see how the season will play out for every player and team…
To the fellow fans, former and current players, umpires, analysts, and coaches out there, I say CHEERS to the game we all LOVE, and here is to another great year of baseball!!

Welcome to the family John. Many of us commentators have been here for years. Feel free to interact and disagree with us.
I remember seeing you pitch against the Cubs…..
Tim… I’ve been on this site for years before you started doing it full time and watched it grow. Well done.
Thanks for the article, John. I always get a kick out of knowing that many MLB players/coaches/front office are reading these very same pages to gain the same sort of insight. How the world has changed in such a short time.
