If that’s the case, I doubt there will be a trade now. Diaz will get first crack at shortstop, with Gyroko and Garcia backing him and Wong up in the infield.

Deven Marerro to the Cards for Tim Cooney?
JFactor
No, that’s a significant overpay for Marrero, who is basically another Greg Garcia
Though, this is an improvement from your Reyes for Marrero idea
bigpapi4ever
I apologize for the double comment, I seem to be having some issues on my end, anyone else having trouble commenting?
Vinny Time
Wow. Had no idea CJ made that kind of money. What an albatross.
Yamsi12
Not as bad as Josh Hamilton though, who the halos are also paying for lol.
Melvin McMurf
maybe we can texas to take over payments on this lemon as well
Vinny Time
Wow, Puljos, Wilson, Hamilton… Halos are doomed to bottom feeders this year. At least next year Weaver and Wilson money are off the books.
JoeyPankake
Texas isn’t paying Hamilton, the Angels are.
SoCalShu
Weaver
Melvin McMurf
texas is kicking millions to be on their injured list
Diablo 2
You’re such a troll. This team will not be at the bottom. They will be one of the top teams this year.
JFactor
The Angels?
I doubt it. The Angels are like the Giants from 94-96. One amazing player, and a roster full of junk. (though the Angels don’t have a Matt Williams).
Diablo 2
No were near that lame Giants team. Angels have an amazing player with good/great players around him and along with those players is there will to play this game. Nava, Calhoun, Johnny G, Perez, Soto, Richards have all made strides to improve their weaknesses and so far during the spring you can see their hard work has paid off. People are going to be so surprised by how good this team will be.
angelsinthetroutfield
I kinda doubt he’d accept the role but maybe LAA can use CJ out of the pen for 2016. He has experience in high leverage situation, the Angels could use another LHP reliever, and it could reduce the wear on his arm. I know $20m is alot to pay a pen member but it’s really about maximizing the value. If he’s more effective in relief so be it.
Their rotation would be Richards/Heaney/Santiago 1-3 with some form of Skaggs/Tropeano/Shoemaker/Weaver for the 4 and 5 spots. Could be better but could be a lot worse too.
SoCalShu
I have suggested that too about Wilson w/ the same monetary concerns. He could also be a long man if (well WHEN) needed.
SoCalShu
I have said the same about CJ and let him also be the long man/spot starter….I also don’t think they will cuz his ego on his side and he’d be a very expensive RP/Swing man….but if he’s successful it’s worth it….
Diablo 2
The only way this happens is if Richards, Heaney, Santiago, Skaggs and Tropeano all show they are capable of taking over a spot. It will make it very hard on Sosh to remove one of those guys for Wilson if they are all performing. Sosh has always had a short lesh on Wilson anyway so as long as those guys perform they will keep it and Wilson will be in the pen.
cardfan2011
I sure hope Diaz is given the chance, I think he could be at least a decent SS till Peralta returns
