Every chat there seems to be a question about the Royals upgrading their RF platoon. Why? I’ll respond again…..
Last night Dyson came back from injury. He saved a run with a sparking play in RF. He threw Iglesias (a fast runner) out by 10 feet (Iggy didn’t even try to slide) trying to stretch a single to a double (Dyson has a cannon arm and is accurate….as does and is Orlando). In the 9th inning down one, he worked a walk, then – with the pitcher and catcher homing in on him – stole 2B to get into scoring position. The Royals lost, but Dyson did his job.
The Royals are not a rotisserie league team. They are an extremely smart and talented professional baseball team, dedicated to winning. Dyson and Orlando fit in – and if needed, both can play a high quality LF and CF as well. Add that their salaries are reasonable, and I have no idea why people keep thinking they need to be replaced. Might I suggest some of you get your heads out of the box score and watch some of their games.

Imo dyson or Orlando should be the weak side of the platoon. Dyson is a good bench player who you can use for defense or speed, but I don’t think you’d want him playing 100 games as a starter.

Since one bats RH and one bats LH – how do you do that?
And did you know that Orlando also has speed and plays excellent defense?
I’ll suggest they might do something at the trade deadline if those 2 are not healthy, and they can find a rental for 2016. They’re not going to give up a whole lot of value, nor take on a large contract as then want money to resign Hosmer, Moose, and/or Cain.
