Brandon Phillips to the Angels. Reds pay a little of his salary and ask for an autographed mike trout bat in return
gmflores27
No thanks from an Angels fan
halos101
agreed.
queensmike
No way on Brandon Phillips. Angels sign Chase Utley or Adam Rosales to a 1 year deal as a stopgap until Jose Altuve FA in 2017.
roberty
Altuve has 2 option years with the Astros, he wont be a free agent until after the 2019 season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them extend him well beyond that before he hits free agency.
pieboy
Utley would be too expensive (he does not come cheap)
and Rosales is essentially Giavotella 2.0
redsox for_life
Why the redsox waiting for sing Beltran??is not to many lefty in the market!!

Drew omg World Series
rnyrican88
He should be selling hot dogs,he’s terrible.
pieboy
he’s better than any option we have in house or the other reasonable options available, we dont need a super star at 2B, we need a LH bat who can at least be somewhat consistent and his in the bottom third of the lineup. Drew fits the bill
alfredog-2
Cahill is a great fit for the marlins the should get him now
Kayrall
That was my immediate thought, too. Low cost, low risk, middling reward. At the very least, if starting doesn’t work, he could slide into their bullpen.
alfredog-2
Right with you there

Angel Pagan on the Orioles would be a great fit, imho. 3 years, 17 million. Too rich?.
Brad Blossom
3 yrs is too much and too low aav. 2 yrs 22M is what I’d expect
Brad Blossom
more like 2 yrs 22M
dwilson10
Not sure if I like Pagan to the Orioles. He would be a good fit because he is a good hitter with some power and speed and can hit leadoff but he is 35 and is often injured.
rnyrican88
Mets need to get a closer, or trade for somebody, nate jones someone, that’s ridiculous.
hojostache
The Mets have Familia and Reed. Familia is expected to miss time due to a suspension and Reed can fill in during that time. That said, They *do* need at least 1 more solid BP arm…maybe two. Salas as a FA or maybe Robertson (CWS) or similar in trade. I’m not sure they will pay closer $ to the available FA, but I can see them trading for an arm.
omniforce13
Mets will likely look to get a solid reliever back for Jay Bruce in trade. They’re not going to replace Familia as closer.
bmore12
Orioles need to get this done. Probably 2 years and 14-18MM should get it done.
mstrchef13
Despite the fiasco last year, the Orioles need Fowler more than any other free agent on the market. No one fills the team’s needs better than he does.
srdiaz1972
Angels need to bring back Aybar to play 2nd base.
fettichico shiznilty
I really hope that’s an option they’re considering if plan A and B fall thru
pieboy
why would they sign and most likely overpay for Aybar?
he had by far his worst offense season last year, his OBP was barely above .300, his OPS dropped badly his defense was already declining in his last season with the Angels, he’s not a speed threat anymore which was one of his best traits as an Angel
Drew on the other hand, provides the same if not better defense than Aybar, has more power, now had way less AB’s than Aybar, but killed him in OBP and OPS.
Drew is the better choice, by a wide margin.
