Honestly, Cain is the only one of those free agents that isn’t easily replaced. Moustakas is probably the next most interesting, but I’d just let hosmer and Escobar leave if I were them.
Vedder80
Cain is by far the most talented. Escobar’s position makes him next on that list for the difficulty of replacement.
McGlynnandjuice
Yeah that makes sense, it’s just that Escobar is well below average offensively and is pretty average defensively, as far as shortstops go.

Age and injury for Cain make it risky. Same with Moose. Letting Escobar walk might be needed. Hosmer would be ideal if the price goes down because of his implied leadership skills.
McGlynnandjuice
His leadership skills don’t mean much if he plays like Eric Hosmer. If he’s asking anything more than like $10mm over 2/3 years I would cut him loose

If Cain is healthy he’s a superstar cf and KC should keep him. Moose needs to prove he’s healthy and his 2015 year was for real. If they feel Mondesi is ready then Escobar ain’t coming back even though I do really like him. Hosmer to me isn’t worth the numbers that are being thrown around by Boras and I do really like Hosmer. If he left and Brandon Moss took over first I don’t see any downside. The KC community will be upset if he left as he’s pretty close with the KC fan base.

Dodgers should employ both strategies with Urias, both leaving him in Arizona a few weeks and limiting his use upon returning to LA. No rush, do this right from day one.

exactly they need him in the playoffs that’s where they have had problems
