Most of the writers here do a pretty good job of checking their biases at the door, but Jason seems to continually be slanted towards the Padres. Sure Espinoza pitching in the majors in 2020 is a possibility, but by the time he gets back, he’ll have missed 2 full seasons, and never even gotten to high A, so the expectation that he’ll even be fully healthy next year is a stretch, much less effective enough to skip through 3 levels of the minors in less than 2 years. If Espinoza was a prospect of any other team, Martinez would have been far more bearish on his future.
