realmuto could walk into the angels arms. a dagger!
That’s a lot of names.
look at the age of everyone wow
I was just gonna say that too
they rarely hit the market young
Springer, Betts, Simmons for position players interest me but that’s it. Other than that what a lame free agent class lol. I think the Yankees extend Tanaka and Stanton doesn’t opt out. The Sox extend Betts
Betts has zero desire to sign with Boston before testing the market. They could offer him 500M, he would still say no. Every year he doesn’t sign, he makes an extra 100M. Last year they offered him 200M, if they offer him 300M now, he says no. Next year they could offer him 400M, hard no. He hits this free agent class (which is absolutely horrendous) he gets close to 500. He wants everyone’s best offer though so he can get his “fair” deal.
What about Mitch Moreland and Steve Pierce
Free agents after the current season. This is a list of free agents two years out (see title and opening paragraph)
Goldschmidt?
This is a list of free agents after the 2020 season, not after the 2019 season.
The 2019-20 free agent list has been posted since last year:
mlbtraderumors.com/2018/08/2019-20-mlb-free-agents…
Goldy got extended today by stl
Am I wrong, or are there simply very few braves on this list.
The team is very young and under team control
If Stanton opts out and Betts hits the market I think the Yankees go all out for Betts
He was unlikely to opt out before the recent free agency issues, I think he is definitely not going to now
especially since he will be 31 by that year
Ryan Braun also likely to be a FA
Thanks! Missed that one.
Too early.
Why? They aren’t saying that these are players that will hit free agency. Just showing who is currently set to hit free agency in that offseason.
Many commentors often find their quiver of knowledge to be lacking in arrows, providing some data certainly doesn’t hurt. They’ve been doing this feature for years
I meant too early for me. But thanks for your useless commentary.
Lol yeah because your original comment was the utmost in usefulness
Was to me. Wasn’t meant for you. In fact, none of my comments are meant for you.
Then why post them if their just got yourself
With Derek holland on this list, this is THE free agent year MLB teams have been waiting for.
I think this is premature as players are starting to sign extensions. Guys like Mookie Betts can sign extension and be eliminated from this FA class.
But look at the ages of these upcoming FA class. It goes to show how much longer organizations are holding these guys back for extra year(s) of control. By the time they are FA, they are near their mid-30s. So disgusting
Many of the guys listed either started their major league service late (mid 20s) or because they bounced back and forth to and from the minors (for various reasons such as they simply didn’t take advantage of their first opportunity). More than a few are making at least their second venture into free agency as well. Several also have signed at least one extension. EXTREMELY few major league players truly have their clocks manipulated despite the outcry of those notable few who have. Get a grip it isn’t nearly as disgusting as your comments seem to imply.
Some have already been a FA such as Encarnacion.
Molina is on the list, but he say that it depends if the Cardinals offer him a contract, but if they do not, he will retire.
Very few good players most already on their 30s. If the Yankees don’t win at least 1 world series title in the next 5 years their decition to just keep filling their bank accounts instead of spending it on what could be the LAST YOUNG GOOD FREE AGENTS will hunt them forever specially if Philadelphia wins 1 in that time. They should feel ashamed to complain about money with all the money they make from the yes network alone not to mention everything else. Oohhhh do I miss THE BOSS.
Half of these players won’t sign.
Andrelton Simmons will have signed an extension with the Angels by then.
Not a chance the Angels already blew their wad!
Not even close? Do you even know how the MLB payroll and luxury tax works?
Question is do you? Just a couple things..The percentage of payroll they’ve sunk into Upton and Trout, their lack of pitching now and no pitching prospects on the horizon. Their want of a new park, and those are just some. Finally how did they strengthen their club this FA period?
Nope Angels will let him walk use a stop gap player to play SS for a year then they will sign Francisco Lindor to play SS and Javier Baez to play 2B.
Lol
LAWDY!!!! Stop feeding those who want to save their money for Betts’ Free Agency! It’s a completely fictitious universe!
You might as well scratch Betts off that list. He’ll get Trout money (or more) if he has another MVP-caliber season from Boston.
*for Boston
Did you happen to sleep through yesterday?
No, why? If you’re eluding to Betts signing an extension this season, I highly doubt it. Boston will try to lowball Betts (they do this all the time). He’ll hold out for a record contract next season.
Isn’t Yasiel Puig also a free agent?
As usual, I skim down w/o reading the top… I’m like wait…Joc Pederson is 29?!?
Not right now he’s not.
They’ll all sign extensions by the end of the week
Betts is backing up the Brink’s truck with Trout and Goldie off the market. If Stanton has a huge year he may come out but Betts is more attractive.
I appreciate all the information this site provides, but do we care all that much about two years from now?
Things change so fast.
You can cross Rizzo off this list as he’s nearing an extension with Cubs already
Rumor: Yankees may pick up Ellsbury’s club option for $21m just to troll the Padres, Phillies, and Angels.
Justin Smoak?
There’s a lot of in-between guys on this list who could bump their stock with their performance from now until then. Profar, Stroman, A Sanchez, Zunino, Semien, Beckham, Marwin, Pederson, E Hernandez, Villar, Panik, JBJ, Bauer, Kela, Gausman, Hendricks and Skaggs are all guys who could get a lot of money if they really break out even further than they have.
Betts, Realmuto, Tanaka, Simmons, Springer, DeGrom, Paxton, Ray & Treinen all getting big money for sure.
So we’re calling Daniel Murphy a first baseman now?
One, Suzuki is under contract next year for 6M after signing a 2 year 10M contract that YOUR website reported. Two, Gomes is a free agent under a 1M option.
If you want someone to do this job please contact me. I love this aspect of baseball and will have less mistakes than the current staff.
What of Correa of the Astros?
