East coast bias.. HAHA.. Not even close, more like just horrid announcers like back to the start of the Joe Morgan days and only time got better was short time they had john Kruk and he wouldn’t conform to their obsessive rules, so left that institution and they have been horrid (again) since.

opening day ruined for fans of those teams, unless try to listen via radio.

Please MLB, forget the cash ESPN throws your way, or make them take the home team announcers and get rid of the awful people espn employs.

Laptop* Some professors allow it, some dont. Lucky, Opening Day overlapped with a chill professor, of a very boring class.

Bonus: Last seat in the back! While recording the lecture on my laptop. I’m living the dream.

I friggin can’t stand ESPN. Every time they get an exclusive game, I can’t watch it live on my mlb.tv streaming package, even though I pay for the Premium package.
Same goes for worthless Facebook when they get games.

MLB is so worried about losing younger fans, but then don’t accept that younger fans DONT use cable and still restrict all of these streaming options by cable. They only have themselves to blame

It would fit perfect except for one thing, out of market games. Not all but most millennials and fans of a team in general are going to live near the team they support and in the TV market. I would gladly pay $5 a month if I could watch games live but blackout restrictions are an archaic practice that MLB needs to move away from like the NFL has done if they want younger fans.

Sunday Night Baseball has shown the Rockies 12 times in 28 years. They have shown just Yankees v Red Sox 12 times in the past 4 years, And I guarantee they would show it more if they could. ESPN is a fine regional network for Yankees or Red Sox fans. For me, I’ll pass.

It’s also the biggest rivalry in baseball, pulling in the biggest TV ratings, which pull in the bigger ad revenue dollars.

The new MIC (Mousketeer in Charge) at ESPN has at least realized there’s a problem; the hiring of Jeff Passan (whose current free article on the site should be required reading for any baseball fan) was brilliant.

They’ve dipped just about everywhere; viewership, ad revenue, credibility. But I can see a turn-around.

I’m no fan of ESPN, but it’s MLB that deprives us of games despite its “watch every game” sales job. Before renewing my subscription this year I wrote ‘customer service’ and asked which games were going to be blacked out nationally this year. They said that they did not know but the full list would be posted before the regular season began. I’m still waiting.

    tim – pick a direction
you still do not put a banner on top when you have a chat ongoing
once it falls a few stories you just do not know
the chats are great and unique
banner them on all 4 sites and see if you can drive cross traffic
but make sure these guys take them serious, can’t be late, forget to
    show, etc.
gotta pick a lane in this competitive environment
