Sure, Greene may have not gotten back a lot but Joey Wentz has a lot of upside. I was a lot happier to see Allard traded away than Wentz.

Kluber is a product of the padres system, but it seems they hit very well on a couple guys.

This is completely unrelated to the chat, but I’d like to mention the passing of Frank Alfano. Drafted out of high school by the Mets, he decided instead to go to USC. A top performer in 2 college world series’, he went on to play 1 season in the Twin’s system as a 2B before returning to his hone in San Diego. After a short career in the financial industry he became a fireman rising to the rank of captain. He was active in officiating in baseball and football at the collegiate level and served on several boards of governing institutions. He also worked the chains in SDSU football games and also a worked as a replay technician.

Frank was the husband of my wife’s cousin, and the nicest, most humble guy you could ever meet. Frank was 70 years old; too young, and gone too soon for all who knew him. RIP Frank.

I have a question for the next chat. Should mlb make the audio free to stream online?

Imagine if you could listen to every game. Interest in baseball would increase. Especially with the amount of blackouts on cable tv.

That guy’s gotta be kidding suggesting Hader is more valuable than Gleybar Torres give me a break. Mariano Rivera sure, any other reliever no way. And yes I realize the Cubs traded Torres for Chapman but that was an in season going for World Series or bust move, not an offseason players under control type of trade.

And when Torres was traded he was still a prospect. People are insane.

The cubs traded Torres, a highly regarded position prospect, and three other players for to rent a relief pitcher, not a World Series Championship. Chapman went back to the Yankees during the offseason, so it was a net gain of five players for the Yankees and nothing for the cubs. That’s a crap deal, and cubs fans should not be happy about it. Being championship deprived, and desperate, cubs fans don’t care about Torres. Same with Soler, Jimenez, Cease.

Wrong as usual. This time even more wacky than the usual drivel.
