Was Kris Bryant not “clearly MLB-ready” in 2015? How about Ronald Acuña in 2018? What’s bad about it is Preller gave away a full season of a 20 y/o All Star for basically nothing.

Good luck doing that without getting hit with a grievance from the MLBPA. What exactly does he have to work on?
Bottom line, the time to do that was at the beginning of the season before he had proven that he belonged in the majors.
