With MLBTR’s revenue down 40% this year, we’re asking diehard readers to consider supporting the site with an ad-free subscription. We’re not asking for donations, however. Our team works hard to make the $29.99-per-year subscription worth your while beyond the removal of ads, with exclusive chats, articles, and tools. Check out all the benefits here. Thanks for supporting our hot stove coverage.
DoritosLocosTaco
For the same price you could get 20 doritos locos tacos, pre-tax of course…
Rocket32
DoritosLocosTaco Sorry MLBTR but I think we all know which of the 2 is more important and worthwhile.

This ain’t a bad deal at all. If anything I just wish you guys can make the member chat a bit more accessible, maybe a link on site? The email I used to register isn’t one I check that often, and subsequently I haven’t been to many of these chats
Tim Dierkes
We could probably change the email address if you’d like. I wouldn’t post the link on the site, as those chats are exclusive to members.
Kayrall
Is there any way you could send out push notifications of an impending chat to members? I always see the members chat email a couple of days after the fact.
Rangers29
It’s a great deal, you get exclusive articles, and chats where you are practically guaranteed to get questions answered.
DoritosLocosTaco
I remember purchasing the MLBTradeRumorsApp in 2012 when it first came out. I spent a little under 2 doritos locos tacos on it. Then they made it free.
Melvin McMurf
its the only app i ever paid for
BobSacamano
Taco standard currency?? Utopia
sleddy989
When are you going to have other sports chats other then baseball . Enjoy mlb subscription
Tim Dierkes
We did an NBA chat a few days ago, but generally there is not enough interest/questions in the other sports to do a subscriber chat.
Waittillthisyear
I just grabbed a subscription. Thanks to the staff of MLBTR for all the work and passion you put into this app over the years. There are so many apps out there, and I’m a techie by trade and hobby, so when I say I check it a couple times a day, that’s the best compliment I can give. I’ve got lots of ideas of ways to make it even better, but for now I just want to congratulate you on your fine work and I hope you have an abundance of subscribers by years end!

Lonnnnggg time reader, at least since 2008, if not before. Love everything you have done, are doing, and what I’m sure you will do. Thank you Tim and everyone for brightening each day for me. Just subscribed, wayyyy overdue.

This is, without a doubt, my #1 site for MLB news, period. Myself, like many others I imagine, check this site numerous times a day, every day. I can’t imagine the hot stove season without it. The membership benefits are awesome, and all for less than a dime a day. With all of the uncertainty in the world today, let’s not take this site for granted. Readers, show your support with a yearly membership so we can keep a good thing going. Keep up the good work guys!

Unless you click on the link it’s pretty easy to assume it’s $29.99 a MONTH not a year. Also I believe it would be advantageous for MLBTR to offer a monthly rate or at least a yearly rate billed monthly. I think a lot more people would be more willing to sign up for say, $2.99 a month, especially in the midst of a pandemic. Just a thought.
Starscream
I suggested that, as well.
I think a monthly plan would greatly increase their subscription base.
Inside Out
Well worth the cost for ease of finding new information quickly while not having to follow certain horrible “writers” like jon heyman on twitter. Having member chats nice, although I wonder how easy it will be to get questions answered as membership grows.
Tim Dierkes
I think if we reach a point where it’s difficult to get a question answered, we’d add additional chats.
jaysfansince1977
I feel guilty not subscribing after using your wonderful site for so many years for free. but alas i do not have the financial wiggle room at this time, hopefully in the near future this changes!
Tim Dierkes
Definitely no worries on that front!

You guys should sell merchandise. I would buy
3Rivers
Actually I’m so surprised you don’t already have apparel for sale. You guys are definitely missing out $$ wise.

I really don’t have much interest in the benefits (since I sadly know that I’ll forget about them), but I do love the site and check it daily and have for years. I appreciate the work you guys do and that is worth the subscription for me. I rarely comment or even sign in to the site, but I do read all the articles and chats. I imagine I am probably in the majority of lurkers that enjoy your content semi-anonymously. Keep up the good work and we’ll still be here.
Also, thank you for sticking with a predominantly text format. A lot of online content has gone to video and I do not enjoy it nearly as much. I enjoy being able to read articles on my phone while I am in a way-too-long meeting at work, sitting at my mother-in-law’s house while she is watching the news, or while I am waiting on food in a restaurant without bothering everyone around me. Besides, none of you are worth looking at anyway… 😉

As suggested, a monthly fee would get lots more support. I have no idea why that is not an option. It has been put out there but it is like talking to a telephone poll. I just subscribed too the Athletic for that very reason… monthly not yearly.
Tim Dierkes
I think it’s something we might be able to do.
Kayrall
Could we get an option to ignore/block specific users in comments? Some comment sections are predictably unbearable because of specific users.
troll
i suggest everyone must have a profile picture
Miles1002
I do love this site. I visit multiple times a day, always checking to see what’s going on. If I see any update, this is the first place I go. It’s not even just for the constant news, I find the the people that visit and comment are some of the most informed baseball fans out there. I like to think of myself in that group. While there will always be trolls, it’s still the best place for baseball news and baseball discussion. Thank you for that. I’ll be part of the subscribers soon as I would love to contribute.
And I do have to agree with a lot of the comments, a monthly fee just seems to work. Granted, it doesn’t really matter to me, I just think that people like having a monthly knowledge of what is being paid for. You know, netflix, Hbo, disney+, rent, and mlbtr. I’ll be taking the yearly but I do think more people would sign up for just month to month.
802Ghost
I think you guys should make the ad-free option a bit more in front of people on the main page. I was looking for the info, was thinking it would be right in the top bar.
Rangers29
Trolls come and go, but there is a good group of commenters that is here all throughout the day read to have informed conversations with anybody. Great community here.
mlb1225
You’re a great commentor here. Really appreciate guys like you.
Joey Konk
Been here since the black background, white text days. I owe Tim and the crew much, much more than a membership fee but will happily sign up to support this amazing place!
Mr_KLC
More than happy to contribute. One of the first sites I visit every day.
