WooOooo!! Franco reppin Hanser Alberto for the ChiSox!! Really hope the Dodgers bring him back!
In Seager/Hader We Trust > the 70 MM DH Ohtani
“I implore you to ignore the staff ones.” (regarding predictions contest) Lol
Look up individual authors for fun. They aren’t having too good a season.
Mattimeo09
Tim Dierkes (the founder) has 7 & Steve Adams (one of the longest tenured writers) has 6. Considering they’re in the top 500 of 6000, I’d say that’s pretty good
.
Halos need Greinke!!! I like your thinking Franco!
RunDMC
Gleyber Torres and a prospect for 2 years of the 2022 NL Cy runner-up: Max Fried.
What did Max Fried do to your mom to cause that much disdain?
Joe says...
That didn’t come from a Yankees fan. Not saying Yankees fans can’t come up with some dumb trade ideas (though I would say they’re no dumber than some I’ve read that had nothing to do with the Yankees). That was a straight up troll.
.
Lol “Mid” level prospect to boot…
DogDays2
Yeah, mid level— that’s not even possible. All our (Yankee) prospects are top shelf.
We got that going for us… which is nice.
mlb1225
I thought Kuhl could be a decent reliever years ago, but since his Tommy John surgery, he’s pretty much been cooked.
BobGibsonFan
I was tied with Mark P last year and I’m tied with him this year.
Gwynning
I’m certainly not trying to beat a dead horse… mad respect to the Giants… but what in the Wide World of Sports does Zaidi do now? Pivot to other FAs that are quickly disappearing? Punt on the ’23 season and basically roll with what he’s got? Trade valuable prospects to improve his ’23 squad? Whatever happens, I believe he needs to repair the public perception and cater (somewhat) to his fanbase… I’m just not sure what that means, roster-wise. Tough pill to swallow, and I’m sure he’s just the scapegoat of the story.
.
We’ll go with “punt on the 2023 season” for now…
Gwynning
That may be what happens, Trumbo… and who knows? Maybe that’s what his Season Ticket base wants by now. What a debacle, but only time will tell if they dodged a proverbial bullet in that Correa contract. Very interesting indeed. Cheers bud!
Giant Willy
Hopefully Farhan isn’t anywhere near the Giants organization soon
Brew’88
I mean, Correa wasn’t going to make or break Giants season. I’m sure there are alternative plans in the works , screw public perception.
Gwynning
Oh and, once again, great chat Anthony. Off-Seasons Greeting to everyone who reads this, hope you all have wonderful Holidays!
jorge78
Same to you and all!
Joe says...
Gwynning I heard that comment in the voice of Slim Pickins.
atuck_sfg
I’d say all hands on deck to try to sign Ohtani next season for SF and my guess is the only reason they don’t get him is not because of money but because he wants to play elsewhere. 10 years 400+ million contract offer incoming
.
atuck, I wouldn’t make signing Shohei the cornerstone of anyone’s strategy. Once the Halos extend him it will be back to the drawing board for a lot of teams if that’s the case. Nobody should get too excited at the prospect of him leaving Orange County.
Gwynning
You better extend him, Trumbo… because add our names to the list of interested suitors! It does futile to hedge future bets though; this offseason is now. Best of luck, atuck. Cheers all
Giant Willy
The Giants won’t get Ohtani with Farhan and Kapler at the helm. He’s already spurned them once.
bhambrave
They could take on some bad contracts to try to get some extra value. Patrick Corbin, Marcell Ozuna, Madison Bumgarner, Yoan Moncada, Fernando Tatis Jr.
.
Dear lord Bham stop!!!!!!! Hahaha I can’t handle thinking of all those guys at once!
Gwynning
Yeah, I’m going to go out on a limb and say we can positively scratch Tatis’ name off that list, bham. Haha
bhambrave
I had to slip him in there. 🙂
Gwynning
Very plausible strategy though, bham. Corbin makes the most sense to me. Solid input!
tedtheodorelogan
He should resign in disgrace.
Gwynning
Mission accomplished, Joe! =)
C Yards Jeff
Trade DL Hall? Interesting. Thanks for the take Anthony. Cheers!
RunDMC
I mean, a high velocity pitcher with the name “DL” — that’s quite ominous — and not even PC (“IL”).
jorge78
Whoa! Staff not looking too good on FA picks…..
ChiSoxCity
Segura at 2B for the White Sox? Pretty lame. How many years you guys gonna suggest the same lame players for the same teams? I would pay money for some serious, decent commentary on teams besides the Yankees, Dodgers, Giants and Mets. You forget there are 30 teams or what?
Curly Is A Dumb Stooge
ChiSoxCity: you’re in luck! There are plenty of pay sites for you to take your talents (and credit card) to. Perhaps you’ll find what you’re looking for elsewhere?
DarkSide830
Segura for what he will probably get will be a better value than most of the INF contracts handed out lately.
ChiSoxCity
They’ve been suggesting Segura in trades and as a free agent for multiple offseasons now. There are far better options out there in trades and free agency. It’s lazy commentary, enough already.
lesterdnightfly
“It’s lazy commentary, enough already.”
Indicting one’s self, Exhibit 1.
drasco036
This is why we love white sox fans, they get mad that a site has suggested Segura for multiple seasons but ignore the embarrassing fact that they have had the same glaring hole for multiple seasons.
It’s also funny AJ Pollock hated playing for the White Sox so much that he opted out of his contract, leaving a good ten million dollars on the table!
Giant Willy
All I have to say is that I’m going to save a ton of money boycotting my lifelong favorite team, until Farhan Zaidi and preferably Kapler, is gone.
Fever Pitch Guy
Fire – I agree on Kapler, he was totally overrated after last year and was a clown for the flag protest.
Giants need a manager the players will respect.
Giant Willy
Agreed. Not a guy who thinks it’s part of his job to make sure everyone knows his political opinions on EVERYTHING
