The Yankees knew they were getting damaged goods when they traded for Montas. Steroid suspension and a bad shoulder were the red flags Cashman completely ignored just to not have to give up top prospects. Given the injuries to Montas and Cortes Sears and Waldichuck would probably come in handy right about now

Cashman was dumb admittedly, but not sure what those guys would bring to the Yankees this year.

Jimmy – Agreed, the guy they could have used right now is Montgomery.

I think the Rangers can compete with Houston. It’s nice to have the owner make all these upgrades to the roster happen but that doesn’t necessarily get you wins. IMO, the most important upgrade (and what will bring them success) is the manager hire. He’s the right guy to make all the new moving parts blend in with the old.

AL West could be extremely competitive next year. Rangers feel like a boom-or-bust team with that starting rotation. A lot could go right, but a lot could go wrong. I’m really rooting for the Mariners though.

Looks at austin martins minor league numbers, look at jose iglesias numbers career .292 hitter. Thats one of the many things that is wrong with mlb today. These guys are contact hitters, they get on base. Kansas citys world series was the best lately in my opinion it was the funnest. They got on base and they ran. Not every guy on your team needs to be a power hitter.

He gets a lot of singles, but only had an OBP of .328, which was slightly above average. Even though he had a higher average, he still had the same amount of total bases as Daniel Vogelbach.
