Soto very well could hold being QOd against the Yankees. Juan Soto is a baller. And when you’re a baller like Juan Soto is you’ve earned the right to be finicky like that.
Arizona has nothing to lose with these comments. This may push him to walk away if Montgomery takes the comments personally. (Saving AZ a lot of money) He is still partly blaming himself too. Positive criticism isn’t toxic.
I think he made the comments hoping to anger Montgomery enough that he walks away from 22 mil. Nice try, but it won’t happen.
