Englebrook, 28, has a 6.46 ERA, 8.7 K/9, and 5.3 BB/9 in 23.6 Triple A relief innings this year. Baseball America ranked him 23rd among Astros prospects heading into the season, noting that his mid-90s fastball is his only above-average pitch.
The Astros are pretty desperate to want Mr. Finch up in the majors. Wow.
Unbelievable. How does Wade figure that cutting Englebrook, a potentially useful reliever for a team that needs bullpen help, is more expendable than YORDANY RAMIREZ? Seriously, when is this franchise going to understand that a 26-year old who can’t post an OPS over .600 at AAA isn’t deserving of a 40-man roster spot?
