On this date in 1955, the New York Giants signed 17-year-old prospect Willie McCovey as an amateur free agent. Carpenter will be fine soon enough, no need to raise any red flags. The extra innings will be a good thing for Lynn if during the season he needs to fill in as a starter.

kinda felt like simmons was going to out perform pastornicky.. I hope pastornicky can have a decent season but im just not seeing it. the braves should have got a stop gap for simmons. would hate for them to rush him before he is ready to take over long term(hopefully)

Someone please tell Tim McCarver the correct way to pronounce Andrelton Simmons’ name from the get go. He still calls Andruw Jones, On-Drew Jones! Annoys the crap out of me!

Honestly I thing the braves need to look to add a SS we got plenty of starting pitching, we could easily deal Minor and get a veteran or even a damn good prospect whos more ready for major league ball than Pastornicky, i just dont see the kid cutting it.
