Maybe the Nats should let him heal all the way this time instead of letting injuries move down the kinetic chain.

Strasburg is a bust….Trout should of went #1 overall in 09……

At the time, Strasburg was a no-brainer. I don’t think any team would have picked someone else #1 overall back then.
The thing is, what we all thought was a “generational talent” back then turned out to be just the first in a wave of many young fireballers. When healthy he could be great, but he’s not special, considering every organization seems to have at least one promising/established young starter that throws in the upper 90s.

If Strasburg isn’t special, what do you consider special? Since 2012, Strasburg has a better ERA-, FIP- and xFIP- than Bumgarner, Kluber and Lester. When healthy, he is one of the top 15 or 20 pitchers in MLB and still only 26 yo. He might not be generational, but a true #1 SP is special.

I guess you and I use the word “special” differently. If there are 15-20 starters at his level or better, I don’t think I’d consider that special.
He’s been closer to Prior, Beckett, or Ubaldo at this stage of his career, than the “special” ones like Felix Hernandez or Kershaw.

Calling Strasburg a bust is the silliest comment I have read in a long time. I can’t tell if this is in jest, you’re a troll or completely uninformed.
