Are there any major durability concerns with Weaver? He is quite slender. I cannot think of many sucessful pitchers at all with such a thin frame.

deGrom and Pedro are also v slender.

Randy Johnson, Tom Glavine, John Tudor etc… There have been many successful slender pitchers.

When he was drafted some scouts didn’t like his delivery mechanics, thinking it could lead to a short career or a move to the bullpen. But I doubt that would cause back spasms, and he hasn’t had them before.

Yes, but Weaver is a different kind of skinny. He is beanpole skinny. Pedro was relative to his height. Glavine looked like an average guy. Randy Johnson only seemed skinnier because he was so tall, with Chris Sale being a similar comp. DeGrom isn’t fair because he has an extra 15 pounds of hair (just kidding), but even he has now some injury concerns. Maybe I am being too critical. At least Weaver’s thinness is well proportioned throughout his body.
