Here’s a question:
(Not asked in the chat) don’t rip me apart haha.
A question was asked about Kyle Seager and what’s wrong with him and whether someone would trade for him.
So. How about..
Wil Myers for Kyle Seager straight up.
Let’s not, and say we did
Pretty sure SD likes Villanueva at 3B but also I really hate that trade because its suuuch a Dipoto/Preller kind of deal that they really would do for pretty much no reason.
If they really liked him at third, they wouldn’t have moved Myers there.
I’d take Seager for Myers if I were the padres. Myers is a gigantic injury risk with a contract that soon bloats up. Aside from this season seager has been a consistent starting 3B. Even with his atrocious slash line this year he’s still giving you very good D.
There is another comparison when it comes to the Howard, Davis and Cabrera contracts….all were fueled by owners and the GM’s took the heat.
The Angels signed Pujols to a 10/270 at supposedly 32 years old. He hasn’t produced anything since. His contract is now handcuffing the front office as they try to put a winning group around Trout.
With all due respect to Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom should win the NL Cy Young this year and it should be unanimous.
It shouldn’t be unanimous.
Scherzer has more strikeouts, less hits given up, a lower whip and has pitched 14 more innings than deGrom.
I still think deGrom should win the Cy Young due to his ridiculously low era, but Scherzer has pitched well enough to earn some first place votes
