Do the Reds make another big move, or are they done?

@flight. Reds are done. Reds and Phillies both finish in last place in their divisions in 2020.

Yeah. Todd is right. They both have already openly stated they are giving up on the 2020 season to focus more on the future.

Hi, I’m Mr. Marlin. I haven’t finished above 3rd place since 2004. Nice to meet you.

Can we just get back to talking about the important stuff like Dang% and mayo on a hot dog? That’s the kind of content I like.

how is it embarrassing for the cubs to have a top 3 payroll in baseball, yet all teams near them in payroll are not nearly as lambasted?

Maybe none of the clubs around them did? So what? It doesnt take anything away from the fact that the Cubs have one of the top payrolls in baseball. Also, if you can point to where the Cubs said in those words: “we don’t have any money” I would like to see that. They have made minor moves.

But, you know everything there is to know about the Phillies, why would you even need to ask any questions?

It was probably hard for him to sift through all of the crying about Middleton’s money to find the JTR question.

Correct. However, the way boston is cutting payroll and how far off they seem to be on extension numbers it does look that way.

They are just resetting the lux tax I would bet on it. Once it’s reset they will increase payroll and as long as Mookie’s numbers aren’t too absurd they will stand an excellent chance of signing him if they choose to do so.

Agreed. However, i remember him turning down 200m before his crazy 2018 season and i thought i read he said no to 300m. Even though it is all rumors consensus seems to be he wants to beat trouts contract. It just feels like he is going for the record whoever will give it to him and boston has not stepped up yet. As it stands today. 30 for sale, 20 BX, 17 evoldi, 32 price, 22 Jd… thats 121m for 5. Add in 40+ for betts… just seems like…

Are the Angels getting a frontline starting pitcher? No they are finishing in 4th place. Are the Padres trading Myers, nobody wants him.

Price for Myers makes 0 sense for Boston. Why take on a bad contract when pitching is at least needed?

Price would absolutely get 3/48 in free agency and probably more.

Bloom will wait he will see if anyone overpays for Price if no one does then he trades JBJ and waits out the market.

We are only roughly 6 weeks until spring training games start and if Price shows he is healthy then he will be sought after. My guess is he has already figured out that Price is healthy and highly likely to look good in spring training. It’s a risk but if he does look good in Spring training then teams will line up to trade for him and if all that teams are offering is to pay half his contract with nothing but a lottery ticket then Bloom is probably going to wait it out. That’s my guess we will see what happens. There is no way Bloom moves Price for 3/48 without significant compensation unless he knows Price is damaged goods for sure.

Steve Adams thank you for the chats…but Rusty Kuntz asked you a great question and you totally blew him off…idk but you expressed that “you haven’t given it much thought”….then how about not responding…you are supposedly so full of questions in your chats…just weird you decide to answer a question with “haven’t given it much thought”…well then how about giving it thought or passing on the question…I’m just mad because I thought it was a good question and a respectable one at that..by the way, I’m not Rusty lol
