Over under yankees getting to the 103 wins from last year.

I thought it was just as good as any super bowl question or favorite color question.

It’s ignored because it had the substance and intrigue of a Pardon the Interruption “Mail Time” quip. Pedestrian, stale and really more of a Vegas line bet rather than a “question”. Honestly talking to someone about their favorite color would be more enthralling.

“Over under yankees getting to the 103 wins from last year.”

Why would you think this is such a great question that should have been answered? What’s the difference if they win a couple more, or lose a couple more, than they did in 2019? I think just about every baseball fan with even the most superficial knowledge expects them to win the division. Who cares, other than NYY fans, if they win it with 103 wins, or a few more, or something less? It’s not going to provide anyone with much insight.

Because the media and all other Yankee rubes were saying how amazing it was that they won 103 with so many injuries… imagine less injuries and adding Cole…

Besides, they post these same questions about pretty much every other team.

MLB Trade Rumors needs to change its name to MLB stuff nobody really cares about, but we are going to make some stuff any way. “Baseball player likes the team he currently plays for. Hasn’t thought about when his contract is up and could potentially make over $100 million.”

Dodgers should take on all of Price’s contract to get Mookie, therefore giving up less talent. Then again, the Dodgers have a penny pinching front office and are run by Fraudman. Please, go give more money to the AJ Pollocks and Joe Kelly’s of the world!

The dodgers have the single highest bill for the luxury tax since 2013? Over 150 MILLION, just in penalties. And the other 2 Seasons they spent 199M each of the seasons

Mental gymnastics, that’s funny, especially when you have to go back five years to calculate the Dodgers CBT, leaving out that all of it was paid in the first three years of the Guggenheim ownership, and none in the last two years. Also left out is if they don’t make a trade that increases payroll this year they will start the season with the lowest payroll for the team since 2012 when it was owned by Bankrupt Frank. No, you don’t need to perform any mental double backflips when a simple chin-up will do.

They lost so they are cheap

Cole didn’t sign so they are cheap

Rendon didn’t sign because they’re cheap

Lindor isn’t here because they’re cheap

Yes, the dodgers are supposed to just tell teams when and where all stars go, on LA terms, at LA years and LA geography. No questions

          That’s lazy

Cheap is relative. It’s hard to call anyone cheap spending millions without someone trying to argue it. They are cheap in that they’re still making more a year than over half the clubs. For instance the Yankees were spending about 85% of their income on payroll at a point. Point is he’s right and you’re wrong and he’s right. lol

Lmfao. You just said cheap is relative, then chose one single fact, using the most extreme example possible, to say he’s right inarguably and I’m wrong.

Point to ANY other team in 2010s that maintained as high a payroll as the dodgers did for the decade. There’s NO ONE, not even NYY

You used 1998 Steinbrenner- something that’s never been replicated outside of a singular 3 year run- to say the dodgers are cheap 25 years later…

While they had the 3rd highest payroll in 2018 and 4th highest in 2019. You’re so full of s*** it’s coming out in your comments

If they win a title, who cares? The Yankees overpaid for CC and Teixera in ‘09 and got a title. The Cubs spent big on Lester (and even Heyward) and got a title. The Sox spent big on Price and traded for Sale and got a title… Ypu have to make a big move to win it.

Betts can definitely help LA win a title. Price would not help them. They should trade for what they want and leave the rest.

Unless the Dodgers have a couple major injuries, there is no need for them to take on Price. Dodgers really don’t need Betts. They could use some bullpen help and that’s about it.

          Maeda won’t be traded

For better or worse, he’s used as the CBA pony

There’s a reason he goes to the bullpen every August and it’s not just innings or OMG he’s suddenly just a 4 starter

It’s incentives that he earns mainly when starting (IP). It would be a young guy, May is the prize, Gonsolin is the spin-rate elite prospect they developed. Less exciting for Bos would be Striping. Still effective but not elite

My guess is one of those 3 goes to Boston if Betts+Price come to LA

I guess you never heard a complaint when Joe went to LA from the RS. We the fans, (remember us?) suffered the entire summer of 2018 with Joe blowing the games. He did well in post season cuz he wanted a pay off as a FA. All I know is Price is a good pitcher n should bring a good prospect, n Mookie should bring a high level prospect. I have full faith Bloom will do it n not just give them away. But I would like them to BRING BACK the Brockstar to Boston!!!!

I’m sorry, but if the Red Sox try and trade Price on his own they will get nothing for him. In fact, for the Red Sox to trade Price by himself it would require either the Red Sox paying most of Price’s contract moving forward and/or sending prospects with Price in order to get their trading partner to agree to take Price.

Moreover, if the Dodgers (or any team) agrees to take Price with Betts in a deal that will mean the Red Sox either get practically nothing for the two players or the Red Sox will have to again continue to pay much of Price’s contract over the next three years.

Price, at best, is worth less than $10 million a year for one year. Over three years his contract is an extraordinary liability for the Red Sox.

Just, I can understand how you feel, fully, but the RS have not been accused of stealing as the Astros were. You can’t blame Mookie, he is NOTHING like the arrogant Astro, Bergman. Price has nothing to do with anything, n he’s still a good pitcher, he just picked the wrong announcer to have a problem with, a fan fave called the Eck. As an Eck fan I was horrified n upset he instigated a drama with Eck, uncalled for.
Sure Cora made a lotta bad choices, I like Cora always will but good men sometimes make bad decisions, including AJ n Beltran. I hope Beltran gets a chance to manage in the future, his entire great career shouldn’t be ruined cuz he made some really baaaad choices, as did the others.
Ok I’m done preaching about mistakes, please just bring back the Brockstar to Boston.
