The Angels need a pitcher not a Senzel.

It would take more then Senzel just to get Simmons.

So six years of Senzel AND more for one year of Simmons?

hypothetically… If the Mets are out come trade deadline , any chance Thor is moved? what would Angel’s be looking to give up for him?

The angels definitely have enough to get what is essentially a 3 starter at this point with ace upside. Honestly even if Thor was an ace they’d have enough.

The Mets would try to demand Adell and Marsh both. They tried to demand first Tatis and Paddack, then Gore+ from the Padres. When a team tries to sell you a BMW for Ferrari money, you just walk away.

He may not even be a BMW anymore.

The Padres will nor trade Gore. Myers will bounce back and have a decent season. Could flip him at deadline or next year when owed $40mil. I wouldn’t mind attaching Yates to him this year if we could somehow get Senzel in a three team trade w Red Sox. Bullpen is stacked. I like the Hosmer for Stanton idea! fills needs on both sides. Tatis wins MVP this year.

Hosmer for Stanton make zero sense, from a Yankees perspective. If you’re the Yankees your current production is better than what Hosmer provides, with Voit/(whoever). Your potential production, in Andujar, is far superior to what Hosmer provides. You can find a 5M guy to provide a platoon type offensive advantage. Hosmer is and was a terrible terrible contract. If you’re the Yankees Stanton’s bat plays as a DH, even if he’s one dimensional. At least in terms of Myers there is a luxury threshold loophole. The padres got way to cute with Hosmer in the age of devalued 1bs, and well he’s going to stay for a multitude of reasons. Stanton for Hosmer makes so much sense for the Padres, but not for any other team.

Of course you like the Hosmer for Stanton idea. Stanton at least has an excuse. But everyone including AJ and Eric that had disaster written on it in the press release announcing it.

You fail to mention he’s owed over $250 mil compared to Hosmer’s $100 mil. Also fail to mention he been hurt and Hosmer plays 155 games a year so I’d say it’s not as far off as you think and The Yanks could use a 1B and getting Hosmer back to the AL might be good for him. Same w Stanton. Obviously Stanton had a much higher ceiling but Hosmer I’m confident will bounce back. He’s not a horrible defender like he has been which has sucked a lot of value out of him.

That’s because Satan runs the earthly realm. Read the Book. When I was sent back after dying nine years ago, I learned how little earthly things matter…..except how we treat each other.
      There will be judgement…..

sure you were, dude, sure you were.

you weren’t sent back from anything. you nearly died, you got saved by man (and drugs), turns out when you pump someone full of drugs, it screws with your mind.

now, if it got you to stop treating everyone like garbage, good for you.

but reality check: no deity saved you, no deity will kill you, no deity will judge you.

(and spare me any of that “what if your wrong?” b.s. 45000 versions of christianity, 2000 plus gods, how did you disprove all of them in the name of your deity? and i just know, cause god, isn’t valid)

Why does tomato paste come in a can? Like, when does one actually use a whole can? It just leads to a bunch of tomato paste sitting out for a while or having to throw them in the trash. Now that’s a real shame. I’ve started to see more tubes and that puts a smile on my face.

Wonder if LAD would offer something like 8/50per instead of 10/40/per that would be “closer” to market trends

Still, 400M is a scary number for a guy who’s value is heavily impacted by defense and speed

If Betts signs a 10 year 400 mil contract, 40 mil per year goes towards cap space, correct? What if he signs a front loaded 20 year deal for 400 mil with player options and team options? Does that make it a 20 mil per year hit?

It’s going to be something when everyone realizes Vegas still has the Astros as one of the favorites to win it all. Third right now. That’s based on real money, not your tears. Seriously, I get the anger, yes they cheated two years ago, and they lost Cole, but it’s still a loaded team. It just is. What an interesting year it’s going to be.

Vegas knows far more than you or I jaysfan. They also have to correct for bias in their odds. Because people love to bet on popular teams like the Cowboys, Steelers, Red Sox, Cubs, etc. Since the Astros are so hated right now Vegas may have even lowered their odds a bit, since people will bet against them due to hating them. They will still be a very good team barring a lot of injuries.

Hey, someone finally posted my question… over under yankees winning 103. Looks like there were a bunch of people that didnt believe the yankees would have done better if they hadn’t had so many injuries.
Picked up cole… players getting healthy… still people think they will win less than last year.

I cant see anyone being worse than them in the central. Mariners, Orioles and tigers will be fighting it out for number 1. Royals might be in the mix, but they have some decent players.

I really don’t think so either, but still a top 5 pick. With the addition of Schoop, Cron, Romine, and Nova, I think this team wins 65-70..IF.. Miggy can stay healthy and Zimm can pitch around 4.5 era.
