The Pirates have activated outfielder Gregory Polanco from the injured list. To create space, the team optioned Jason Martin to the team’s alternate training site.
Polanco had been sidelined by COVID-19. Thankfully, it seems he has recovered and is back to full health.
The Bucs will be glad to see the outfielder back in action. He has looked at times like a potential star but struggled quite a bit while battling injuries in 2019. Polanco is owed $11MM next year with successive club options thereafter.

Let him DH and put Osuna in RF.

Too bad they didnt option Kyle Crick…..

Polanco, huh? The Pirates should just send him to the IL for an ailment to be named later.

You know I was just thinking the same thing. Rather than waiting for the inevitable random injury, just put him on the IL for the rest of the season and let him take until next spring to get up to actual 100% before setting foot on a field.

Polanco has a career OPS+ of 100, he is below average defensively and is 28. He is what he is.
thats it fort pitt
Does anyone else get the impression Martin is the new Osuna; only gets limited action before being sent down or to the bench because he’s not producing? Should’ve given him a shot this year instead of Dyson. It’s not like they’re competitors anyway.

Might as well trade for Clint Frazier with Polanco just standing out there doing nothing.
