1: Turner isn’t leaving the Dodgers.

2: Am I crazy, why wouldn’t the Yankees immediately jump on Voit for Rizzo?!

Because it makes no sense. Voit has more team control and is going through arbitration for the first time vs. Rizzo being owed $16.5 million for one year if the option is picked up. Oh, and Voit’s outperformed Rizzo this year.

Appreciate it. For some reason, I thought Rizzo had more control. I don’t put any stock into this year’s numbers, but I understand now with the control difference.

A player Turner’s age has to think about his future. He’s got more of his career behind him than he does ahead of him. So if some other club wants to pony up more money, he’d be foolish not to consider it.

Agreed with Dan, and i think the writing is on the wall. Turner will be allowed to walk, imo.

Then what is the plan for LA at 3B? Trusting Lux or Rios as full time players feel like a stretch. If Lux was great in 2020, sure that’s a different convo

There’s no real good free agent option either. Trade wise, Arenando was not great this year, and I’d bet Turner was better statistically without checking.

I expect LA to not even let him see the free agent offers, and sign him in the 5 day window. 2/30 maybe? 2/40ish would be paying him a premium for bypassing free agency and being the unofficial captain for years in LA

If someone wants to give him Donaldson-like money, yeah he likely walks. I love JT, but I’d be surprised if that offer was out there for him at this time

Rizzo is one year at a high arb number and voit hasn’t hit arbitration yet

JT should be top priority for the phillies , then go fix that bullpen.

JT is asking for way too much, and the Phillies weren’t a playoff team with him. Unfortunately I see them losing him to a division rival (Nats or Mets), which will be absolutely brutal to stomach.

Agreed on Mets being his probable suitor. Sorry Von.

Agreed, they bought JT with Sixto, et al. so they might as well do everything they can to try to keep him. Extension talks did not go well and JT publicly expressed some dismay with the team’s Arb process. I believe he will walk, he’s one of the top 2 position player FAs and will be wined and dined before receiving huge offers. Philly’s chance to resign has come and gone.

He should be in the HOF for being part of those back-to-back-to-back AAU national championships.

He belongs in the HOF for the Tom Emanski commercials alone.

Is John Smoltz the worst ever? Loved him as a player. Hate him as an announcer.

Don’t care for him much as an announcer myself but really enjoy him on MLB network as an analyst.

He loves to talk about himself. Who cares about golf in the eighth inning of game 4 of the NLCS?

Anyone calling a national series yet can’t stop themselves from saying “we” when talking about one of the teams, shouldn’t be calling this series

Hahaha. No. He’s awful. And extremely Braves biased

You can tell he has the Braves scouting report, because he’s talked about multiple hitters how to get them out, as the Braves pitcher does the exact thing. Pollock 2/9. Cody, up and in. Etc. he didn’t just guess that. He only cared about prepping pro Braves

Hasn’t said a word about any weakness of any Braves hitter, no scouting reporting nothing. How is that equal analysis? You’d think a Braves guy could give fantastic analysis of Braves hitters weaknesses. NOPE.

They started talking Braves 99 and his voice went up 3 octaves

I’m sure it feels like a home broadcast for you, so you enjoy it. But it’s laughably one sided. And buck is worse than Smoltz so there’s no hope there

this is like the fan who claimed Sutcliffe is a Cardinal fan but lives In a city 20 miles from Petco and couldn’t stop talking about SD fans getting to watch this team. Okay if you say so

Interesting take. He’s one of the very best announcers IMO. And I’m a guy who grew up hating the 90s Braves.
