Today’s minor moves from around baseball…
- The Reds outrighted Aristides Aquino to Triple-A after the outfielder cleared waivers. Aquino was designated for assignment last week, a move Cincinnati had to make in order to demote Aquino since he is out of minor league options. Aquino had only a .215 OPS over his first 43 plate appearances, with two hits in 41 at-bats.
Honestly a little surprised he wasn’t claimed by someone
Just good timing with the DFA for the Reds to keep him. All other teams had already gotten rid of their two weakest players from April and Aquino couldn’t beat out the rest.
Yeah, agreed. Why not take a flyer on a cheap guy who has shown flashes of promise? Though I guess if you can’t hack it on the 2022 Reds, where else is there to go haha
He has one good month in 4 seasons. His August 2019 was legendary but he’s been atrocious ever since
Me too but there was a bumper crop of similar Outfielders DFA’d the same time as him … maybe he can regroup in AAA
I think he needs a change of scenery.
And a batting stance

He’ll now come up and crush like last time..
