Angel Hernandez lol. The power of being entitled for a position vs being qualified to keep the position.

Lots of people here way worse at their jobs than Angel Hernandez are going to have strong opinions

Really. I seriously doubt that any other field of work would tolerate his lack of ability to do the job at hand. Can’t possibly understand why you’d defend the guy.

NASA has made bad decisions that have led to catastrophic results.

A little bit of context, we are talking about baseball.

whyhayzee – I’m sure former NASA employees also lost their job over the catastrophic results.

IMO, he should have been canned when he filed the law suit against MLB, lost, appealed it, and lost again because both rulings stated he wasn’t efficient enough at his job.

It’s probably Angel or CB Bucknor’s account. Give the guy a break.

The intro and outro being “So Long” is fitting for an episode about Angel Hernandez leaving.

Part of the reason Dave Roberts is an MLB manager and most of the commenters here are not

“No, that’s never happened to me,” Ramírez said through an interpreter Tuesday. “Honestly, my whole time that I’ve been in baseball, that was one of the best moments, best managers that I’ve ever had. For him to do something like that, it made me feel like he’s more of a mother or father figure…” Ramírez said he was “very surprised” Roberts would deliver that message at that time”

Angel Hernandez retiring AND the Bankee$ being forced not to spend so much?!! This could be the greatest podcast ever! Just need to get CB Bucknor to retire now! He is worse than Angel in my opinion. Any time I have been watching a game on TV in the past 20 years and there was a bad call, 90% of the time, Bucknor was the ump.

Karen, no one is forcing the Yankees to spend less money. That’s just Steinbrenner wanting more in his bank account and using the luxury taxes as an excuse.

So long Ángel Hernandez! One of the worst umpires in my life time! Maybe with his pension, he could finally afford an eye exam!

Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey, Good bye!

One of the worst Umpires of MLB History, a guy who came to the park wanting to be seen and heard instead of using his eyes and ears and actually knowing a good call from garbage glad he can’t pollute the athletes and fans any longer. And that’s all I have to say about that clown show

Its a position of public trust, and he was clearly never interested in improving. He deserves the poor reputation he earned and the strong reaction for me raises my opinion of fans tired of voicing fair critique falling on deaf ears.

Hilarious anyone’s going to defend the guy who made a joke of the strike zone and ruined the nights of thousands upon thousands of fans. He reflected the bureaucratic arrogance that infests Major League Baseball in general
