@ 1:30; Mullins will be an Oriole in August.
Wow. All this Orioles chatter. Thanks Steve.
At 2:03 and 2:04. I think its too early to think 2028. I’m hoping rotation guys Braddish, Rodriguez and Wells are back from injury sooner than later. Do they have to be spectacular this year? No. Just show the FO; you’ve still got your stuff and can stay in the rotation with no setbacks. Whatever that reality is, determines future strategy?
I have a proposition to make, see if I get any agreement: You know when a game has been deemed a blow-out and the team who is being blown-out is allowed to bring in a bench player to pitch the rest of the game (in order to save the bullpen) ? I don’t think any of the runs scored off the mop-up bench player should count as earned runs or be allowed to count towards the team’s run differential. That offense is embarrassing to watch, it’s just piling on in garbage time. The competitive factor is gone and the team who sent out the bench player to pitch has basically capitulated and waived the white flag.
Another alternative is just to direct the remaining batters to tap the ball into play as quickly as possible in order to end the game. But watching guys hit three run bombs or grand slams off the backup catcher throwing 40 mph is just ludicrous, embarrassing, and blatant stat-padding.
