The White Sox announced that they have selected right-handed pitchers Duncan Davitt and Tanner McDougal to their 40-man roster. That protects both of them from being selected in the Rule 5 draft. The Sox also noted that left-hander Fraser Ellard has been placed on the voluntarily retired list.
More to come.

Tanner McDougal quietly recorded a breakout season and Duncan Davitt has a 6 pitch arsenal which is rare for a pitcher (ditto for Y Gomez.)
Surprised Pallette isn’t being protected (at least not reported yet anyway)
Protecting Tanner McDougal was a no brainer and I’m suprised they didn’t protect Shane Murphy.
I was able to see McDougal pitch in person this year and…….my God. That guy has nasty stuff.
Fraser Ellard’s retiring? That’s interesting
