Do we know who in baseball is promised the largest bonus if they get voted in as an all star? I know Soriano is promised $250k if he’s the top vote getter, but it doesn’t say what he gets simply for being selected.

According to today’s Boston Globe and attached is the link, V. Martinez gets a $100,000 bonus.(boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2010/07…

They should just add that $50k to Pujols’ salary every year… no questions asked.

Do we know the guys who got screwed out of All-Star bonuses for being left off the roster? Like if Votto or Weaver would have had bonuses if they had been on the roster?
In addition to being left off the rosters, I’d imagine that the all-star snubs would be pissed about not getting money they should have deserved. Charlie Manuel should offer to pay some of those bonuses for the Infante selection.

Votto is pre-arb and only makes $550k (probably the biggest bargain in MLB.) Thus, he has no bonus clauses.

Have to agree with the Infante selection. Not an everyday player…

But you need someone like that. Do you expect someone like Matt Holiday to come of the bench cold and hit plus play as a defensive sub at nearly EVERY position? No, but Infante has a reputation of doing it, and I’ve seen him do it many times.

Ok, I’ll give you that. Not saying that he isn’t pretty great of the bench, I was just surprised when they announced his name.

“Here is why I hate the Yankees…”

*writes something that is flat-out false, and then writes something that can be argued either way*

I think that about covers every single ‘this is why I hate the Yankees’ comment. People, if you’re starting out your posts with that statement, take a few seconds to consider if you’re adding anything of value whatsoever. It’s extremely likely that you’re not.
