Still can’t believe Rogers allowed the Toronto Indians to be formed. What exactly about Shapiro is impressive?
DAKINS
How about the fact that he is highly regarded within baseball and found some success running Cleveland’s team despite a budget that makes Rogers look like the most generous owners in the universe?
DAKINS
Oh, and also, two people don’t make up an entire team’s front office, so it’s hardly the “Toronto Indians”

Chief Wahoo will join as a consultant!

Well Wieters is blocking Joseph because
A.) He is the better catcher
B.) Joseph is not a starting catcher, he gets tired and simply could not handle a full season behind the plate.

Red Sox trade C Blake Swihart to Indians for P Carlos Carrasco
Pros for Red Sox:
Allows Vazquez to start
Adds solid #2 starting pitcher
Pros for Indians:
Surefire (longtime) upgrade at C over Yan Gomes and his .231 / .267 / .391 line
Maybe receive a (now-blocked from rotation) starter from Boston as a throw-in

(apparently editing posts is no longer an option)
Maybe that throw-in starter is Brian Johnson or Joe Kelly
Sox rotation becomes: Price, Carrasco, Buchholz, Porcello, ERod, (Owens as the 6th/depth)
greatd
Not even close.
Controllable pitchers are far more expensive than that.
Yan Gomes even if he doesn’t bounce back to an elite offensive guy
He’s still caught more % of runners than Swihart.
Mookie’s Lip seems to be right.
You need to give up two or more high end prospects if you want a SP.
DAKINS
The Sox would have to give up a LOT more than that for Carrasco. To start, it would need to be two of their top prospects + just to get the conversation started.
mookiessnarl
Seeing what the cost of pitching has been this off season, that throw in would have to be Eduardo Rodriguez or Anderson Espinoza.

As a pirates fan I’d much rather have Napoli or someone else besides loney.
number70
please no loney!!!!
baronbeard
On a team where he will get significant more time, he would do well. He’s a great defender. And he still hit .280 last year….he just has crap for power.
orioles13
I wish JJ Hardy would’ve had his surgery so he could be out of the lineup. Dude is the most overpaid ss in the game. Anybody replacing him could hit better than .220 and 5 home runs
Jared McFarlane
“The Brewers have had interest in Loney before”. Yeah before when they were contenders. A trade for Loney would be stupid.
