Been saying that Inciarte has little value.

Ya. I’m a Braves fan and I know that too. They might tell you about all his gold gloves and that’s pretty cool but if that’s all you have then he’s an 8th or 9th inning OF substitution to make sure your closer gets the save and that isn’t all that valuable.

Would Red Sox be able to trade Porcello if they added a top prospect like Casas? Casas and Porcello for Shane Greene? Tigers would let Porcello walk at the end of the year, but they gained a top 1B prospect.

Not implausible. More than likely the Tigers would ask for another prospect in return though. I believe Greene has another year of control after this year and since he’s having a solid season, they may be able to get Casas for Greene straight up.

Why would Boston do this terrible trade? They can just wait for Porcello to leave after the season instead of wasting prospects to dump him for an overachieving reliever.

Luxury cap purposes. Anyone the Red Sox trade for, the Red Sox must pay an additional 75% of that player’s salary for the remainder of the season. So shedding a contract like Porcello actually makes sense. I forget the threshold, but I think Boston is right up against it or slightly over that threshold for a couple season in a row.

    Re: Stranger Things.

Who is Maya? He must mean Suzie, who was played by Maya Hawke, daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

      Maya Hawke plays Robin.
      Dustin is the best character.

Ah, right. But in the chat, the host said he enjoys the Dustin/Steve tandem, especially how they played off of Maya/Erica. I don’t think there is a Maya character, but Maya Hawke played Robin, which makes sense.

I finished the 3rd season about a week ago. Really good show. Hope they have a 4th season.

This is correct, I said “Maya” when I meant “Robin.”

Who would the red sox send to padres for Yates.

Oooo, if they really want to screw them over, send JD for Yates and have him opt out and resign with red sox.

jd makes no sense for the padres. They have too many outfielders and jd would have fun in SD’s outfield. It’d be like Detroit all over again. we know how fun that was

I can’t believe Mark thinks that the Voit trade is a 5-6 on a 1-10 scale for St.Louis. It’s a 10 easily: Voit us far more valuable than Gallegos and would keep them from getting Goldy and giving him that bad extension.

Bryant a top 10-15 player?! Just looking at hitters better than him (in no particular order):

    1. Trout
    2. Acuna
    3. Yelich
    4. Bellinger
    5. Soto
    6. Betts
    7. Freeman
    8. Bell
    9. Machado
    10. Arenado
    11. Rendon
    12. Devers
    13. Bogaerts
    14. Judge
    15. Chapman
    16. Alonso
    17. Torres

I would take Bryant over about 40% of that list. But you forgot Bregman, Lindor, Baez, Story and probably a couple other players on that list.

Bryant is better than Arenado. Go Road vs. Road numbers and Bryant obliterates him.

Certainly. And his bat isn’t strong enough to be Bryant or Rendon.

How about Inciarte and Freddy Tarnok for Mark Melancon? Giants taking on more salary here but add a projectable arm in and the Braves get a bullpen stalwart?

Make it Dyson and you’ve got a deal.

Stalwart is a little rich for the way Melancon has pitched the past few years.
