How much longer are the reds front office going to put up with bell and his stupid moves can’t handle pitching staff

The Reds are in it to make money not win games. If they wanted to win players like Castellanos and Winker would still be there. As Tommy Pham said in a YouTube video you just go to Cincinnati to get your numbers and move on its not about the team.

If Castellanos and Winker were still there the Reds would still be in last place.

That attitude is what has gotten Pham shipped out of St.Louis, Tampa Bay, and not re-signed in San Diego. Pad your stats and see if any contenders actually trade for you at the deadline

Is Joey Votto a hall of famer? He did have 10 years in a row of dominance from 2009-2018 minus the 2014 season where he had the guadriceps injury. I think playing for only 1 team should help.

Votto is certainly a Hall of Famer.

    1. Mr. Polishuk is not just far and away the best writer on MLBTR, he’s one of the best baseball writers / commentators I’ve read / heard the past few years anywhere.

    2. Interesting question on the Padres needing more offense. I watched a good portion of the Brewers-Padres series. Mirror images of each other. Built on 1) run suppression – defense and pitching; 2) strong fundamental play; and 3) getting one more run then the team they’re playing.

Both teams need to get their position players off the IL, then add a bat or two. If the Phillies are out of the playoff race Rhys Hoskins would be a nice pickup for either team in return for a few ML-ready youngsters. With Scott Boras as his agent he’s a 1-1/2 year rental that can DH and be a run producer. Something both teams need. Not a large salary but depends on their budget along with other moves they make.

Of course, the Padres are adding one of the best bats in baseball to their offense before the trade deadline in Fernando Tatis.

Of course. But his defense offsets some of that offensive value.

And the Brewers currently have hitters on the IL as well.

        Read what I wrote slowly.

          @Samuel

I did read what you wrote. Then I read it again SLOWLY. You suggested Rhys Hoskins to “add a bat”. Now, Rhys Hoskins wasn’t going to be playing 1B, correct? No, you said DH. Now, correct me if I am wrong but wouldn’t FERNANDO TATIS be a better add to DH than Rhys Hoskins? Rhys Hoskins who currently has an OPS+ of under 100? Doesn’t Tatis also play OF? Are you trying to say that adding Tatis will NOT constitute a huge improvement for the Padres? Seriously?

“Both teams need to get their position players off the IL, then add a bat or two. ”

          Tatis is on the IL.

          CAN YOU READ?

Tatis should be a boost. That is unless he reinjures that shoulder yet again he should’ve got fixed at the same time with his wrist.

    WOW! A Luis Arraez question!!

Not just strong hitting mechanics, but the man is an incredibly smart hitter as well. Truly a joy to watch.

The closest thing to Tony Gwynn since Tony Gwynn.

I like Arraez. As I’ve likely said here before, the sort of leadoff hitter the Phillies have been in need of for some time and I’d stil like to see them kick the tires.

        LOL

They need a shutdown closer. How about they “kick the tires” on Josh Hader?

Just for the record, if the the person using the username of Wily Coyote was referring to the character in the Road Runner cartoons, the correct name was Wile E. Coyote.

Agreed. If Mancini was fully healthy last year a trade probably would’ve happened and with the Birds getting something good in return. I’d be surprised as well if we got a top 100 prospect.
