Unfortunately, we are currently dealing with an issue where some of the ads cover the content, on the mobile web version of MLBTR. This is a known issue and we’re hoping to have it fixed within a day or so. We apologize for the inconvenience. Our free app, available for iOS and Android, does not have this issue if you’d like to try that.

Wouldn’t the free app that you mention is available for iOS and Android, also be the mobile version that has the problem?
FYI I have the iOS app and it works fine.
Hopefully all is fixed in the coming days.

The mobile web where you just type in mlbtraderumors.com on your phone is entirely different from our app that you can download.
The mobile web version has some new ad partners, and something must have gone wrong in the implementation of those.

Hey Tim now that your (hopefully) available, why do I need a VPN to post comments on the site?
Tim Dierkes
I’m not sure what that means. What happens when you try to comment without a VPN?
tedtheodorelogan
On hoops rumors and football rumors via the android app, as you scroll through the comments they get pushed to the far right side. Eventually only a single word appears per line.
So

I updated my post to say the “mobile web” version of MLBTR, to make it more clear.

Issue is on the other TR sites too. Half the stories are covered by ads on nhltr. May want to post something over there informing people of the issue and it being worked on.
Thanks for the heads up tho.
DarkSide830
not seeing an issue on Android either

Stuff happens. Thanks for your hard work!

Thanks for letting us know. I thought it might have been something at my end. Keep up the good work.

Angel Hernandez fault for sure….the ad box is just like his strike zone; too big, and appears to be random.
DBH1969
Hahaha. Epic!
Tacoshells

Are you ever going to fix the Mute button on the iPhone app, which hasn’t worked right in many months?
Smacky
You can just reload the page and it goes away. It was a Disney TV ad for me and that’s how I defeated it.
Gwynning
I had to back out then come back… then hope the same page-covering ad wouldn’t be implemented!

The issue of comments not sorting properly has never been fixed. Replies are not notified correctly nor are they sorted correctly in terms of order or location posted.
goob
Tim, at The Athletic, when you post a reply, it identifies which specific post you replied to.
Could this commenting app be programmed to do that too?
Always2Late
Hey Tim, I have accidentally muted someone (no idea who, didn’t even realize I did it) .. asking if there is a way I can see who I muted, then un-mute them?
AHH-Rox
To see who you muted, you could always install the phone app, where muting doesn’t work, and see whose comments show up there that you are not seeing on platforms where the muting function works.
No idea how to unmute, however, unless you want to always use the phone app.
