Any news about Teoscar Hernandez re-signing with the Dodgers?

Pimentel- Last I heard the suspicion was that the LAD are “moving in a different direction” but you know how rumors can go…

Feels like a bit of news to suggest to Teo that the Dodgers have options. But the fact that Teo hasn’t signed anywhere and there doesn’t seem to be any other rumors suggests that he’s still leaning Dodgers himself. Might just be a case of who blinks first.

Pretty sure like what’s been mentioned, they’re moving on.. Soto’s contract gave Boras the opinion that he could raise Hernandez’s price tag and the Dodgers aren’t interested at this point.

Well there is the fact that Boras isn’t Teoscar’s agent so he’s raising nothing for Teoscar.

Oh, I heard wrong. But maybe its a condition of Boras giving the other agents the angle of charging more? I dunno.

Who would they be waiting for instead is the real question.

Boras doesn’t give a crap about his clients or their success after they sign. Time after time he waits it out and his client has a bad or injury riddled year. He’s about to do it to Burnes and for what and extra $5 million.

So he gets $260 million instead of $265. He’s a blight on the sport

One can never know, but I would bet that—as good as he is—Burnes signs for considerably less than that.

Tuck I’m not a Boras fan by any stretch of the imagination but just remember that if we know what Boras is all about, bet your butt the players who hire him know. It’s on the players more so than Boras.

Yeah, you don’t hire Boras if you aren’t going after every dollar the market will bear.

Somebody tell me an agent that doesn’t try to get the most money for his players.

It’s not for the players. The more the agent gets for the player the more his cut is. That’s all Boras cares about. His cut

          bigjon,

If players thought Boras didn’t care about them, they’d switch agents.

@joe; yes & no about Boras. He probably tells the marginal players he represents that “I think you should take this deal, probably the best offer you’ll get”. The bigger headliners, “let’s hold out a little longer, I’m pretty confident I can get you more”. In the end it is up to the players but I can hear him saying to the bigger ones, “I can get you more, just be patient “.

No doubt dodger but even with that, the player is agreeing to go after more. Nothing wrong with that. My only issue with it is having to hear Boras and his guys whining about not getting the deal they thought they deserved.

I think that Boras is finally realizing that he’s not doing the sport any favors by waiting until February for his players to sign.

Teams like to know where they stand in the pecking order of signing free agents. Now teams know they’re not getting Soto so they can move on as opposed to teams remaining in a holding pattern still hoping they can catch the big fish. Many of the rest of the mid to higher tier players were in limbo because teams were “still in” on the big fish.

I think players realize it too. Look how quickly Snell and Soto signed.

Your points are valid, Wilmer… but I’d also suggest that this winter just seems indicative of the chaotic randomness that is an Offseason. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason.

Jones is pretty good but him and holderman isn’t close to a sufficient return for Mayo and Kjerstad. Mayo and Kjerstad should get a superstar in return. Mayo OR Kjerstad for Jones might make sense for both teams.

    “That guy
I think this whole Roki thing is a joke. Seems like he’s holding meetings only with big market teams. Doesnt seem fair.”

This has to be written by a twelve year old, right?

The Skenes effect was supposed to inspire the owner to spend extra on the team.

Not imply that free agents want to sign with Skenes team by some type of admiration

I hope for Skenes sake he doesn’t have a sophomore slump. It would take one gigantic ungly slumpbuster to correct the hype the world has set for him if he doesn’t deliver.
