When hitters like Armstrong crowd the plate why don’t pitchers pitch inside black? Who is at fault if batter gets hit pitcher or hitter?
Isn’t there some rule that states “If the batter is leaning into home plate and the batter gets hit. The umpire can call a strike on the hitter. And not take 1st base.”
wv – Yes you cannot earn a HBP by entering the strike zone, otherwise everyone would be practically standing over the plate especially with all the padding they wear these days.
Also if the pitch is not in the strike zone and the umpire determines the batter made no effort to get out of the way, that would disqualify the batter from earning a HBP.
