Now that the season is over, we’ll start seeing several players choose to become minor league free agents. Major League free agents (i.e. players with six-plus years of big league service time) will hit the open market five days after the end of the World Series, but eligible minor leaguers can already start electing free agency.
To qualify, these players must have been all outrighted off their team’s 40-man rosters during the 2025 season without being added back. These players also must have multiple career outrights on their resume, and/or at least three years of Major League service time.
We’ll offer periodic updates over the coming weeks about many other players hitting the market in this fashion. These free agent decisions are all listed on the official MLB.com or MILB.com transactions pages, for further reference.

Better headline:
Free Agency Short Delay
I declare: “FREE AGENCY!”
I just wanted you to know you can’t just say free agency and expect it to mean anything.
“He Transfers his debt to William Charles Schneider”
I didn’t say it, I declared it
Foghorn Leghorn voice: “I say, I say, these are JOKES, son…”
#Family&Friends #WhereAreTheyNow
Oh no Amaya and Clevinger are gone from the White Sox, what will they do now (I mean besides resign them)?
EXACTLY
I believe Zach Short is seeking to break Edwin Jackson’s record for the number of teams to play for…he’s at least halfway there
Chadwick Tromp changed hands quite a bit this year
Only 5 teams so far. I think he’ll come up Short.
I wouldn’t mind the Braves taking a flyer on Quijada
Can someone explain to me how Tyson Miller did not throw a MLB pitch in 2025 after throwing 50 innings of 2.15 ERA in 2024?
How do you know he wasn’t injured and unable to pitch?
The fact that he pitched in 31 games in AAA?
Of course his 6-something ERA in AAA suggests that the teams that didn’t give him a major-league contract were on to something.
OK
the fact a reliever only pitched in 30 games in a season between majors and minors would suggest injuries as most relievers are double that.
His B-Ref page says he’s on minor league IL. Also he walked 34 in 37 IP.
I am praying that the Houston Astros find some good players that will help them back into the 2026 playoffs and maybe the World Series..
Clevinger will be the Chisox big free agent signing this winter
Thankfully they can’t sign yet otherwise David Stearns would have half this group under contract of some sort.
And because he CAN, Steve Cohen gave each of them a $300 million contract.
If this were one of those clickbait news articles, it would say “Former all -star pitcher elects free agency after strong 2025”.
-referring to 2017 all star Chris Devinski.
Boycott Boras.
Not exactly a list of future HOFers. But every team needs pitching depth, so I’d expect several of the pitchers listed to get a look-see in ST.
I think I speak for all Angels fans when I say thank you to Quijada for choosing free agency.
I was going to come here and say something along those lines if it wasn’t already said.
chrissie getz’s top priority is to resign Mike Clevinger because if he doesn’t, no one else will!!!
