The Giants are among the teams looking to upgrade at second base, write Ken Rosenthal and Katie Woo of The Athletic. The keystone and right field are the obvious needs on the position player side for Buster Posey’s front office.
Tyler Fitzgerald entered the season as San Francisco’s starting second baseman. He’d hit .280/.334/.497 over 96 games during an impressive 2024 rookie campaign. A 32% strikeout rate always made him a clear regression candidate, however, and the Louisville product stumbled to a .217/.278/.327 line this past season. Fitzgerald lost his hold on the starting job by the end of June and spent most of the second half in Triple-A.
Casey Schmitt now holds the top spot on the depth chart. Schmitt had a league average .237/.305/.401 slash line over 348 plate appearances. That’s carried largely by a scorching two-week stretch in June, and he hit .227/.282/.402 after the All-Star Break. Light-hitting utility player Christian Koss is the only other option on the 40-man roster. Giants second basemen had a .217/.273/.343 showing on the season overall.
There’s not a whole lot available in free agency. There’s a clear roster fit for Bo Bichette if he’s willing to move to the other side of the second base bag, but the Giants already have three long-term deals in the infield for Matt Chapman, Willy Adames and Rafael Devers. They could make a run at Ha-Seong Kim, who declined a $16MM player option and is one of the better shortstops available in a barren class.
Jorge Polanco’s knee injuries make him an iffy bet for everyday playing time at second base. The Giants won’t have many designated hitter at-bats available barring a surprising Bryce Eldridge trade. Luis Arraez would be an offensive upgrade but has been pushed mostly to first base over the past two seasons because of his lack of range. Utility pieces Willi Castro, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Luis Rengifo and Adam Frazier have limited upside.
There’s a little more available on the trade market. The Rays are willing to consider offers on Brandon Lowe, who’ll make $11.5MM in the final year of his contract. More than half the league should have interest in Cardinals utilityman Brendan Donovan. The Giants have an interesting group of controllable but not quite proven arms (e.g Landen Roupp, Hayden Birdsong, Trevor McDonald, Blade Tidwell, Carson Whisenhunt) that could get the ball rolling in talks with the Cards, who are focusing on pitching in their trade returns. That’s theoretically also true if they want to make a push for Ketel Marte, though it’d be shocking if the Diamondbacks deal him within the division.
San Francisco is balancing the positional questions against their needs on the pitching staff. Posey called pitching the priority at the beginning of the offseason. Chairman Greg Johnson and general manager Zack Minasian each subsequently downplayed the team’s desire to make a long-term investment on the pitching side. ESPN’s Buster Olney suggested over the weekend that the club was more involved on mid-tier free agent starters.
This afternoon, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic also downplayed the likelihood of a huge splash for a starter. Baggarly writes that the Giants do not expect to sign Tatsuya Imai and are unlikely to make a nine-figure commitment to any other top-tier starter (e.g. Framber Valdez, Ranger Suárez). That aligns with Olney’s reporting about the Giants playing in the middle of the market.
Baggarly adds that the Giants are also looking to rebuild a bullpen that was hit hard this summer. They traded away Camilo Doval and Tyler Rogers (though the latter would have been a free agent anyhow) and lost breakout righty Randy Rodríguez to Tommy John surgery. Their only acquisition so far this offseason has been a one-year flier on lefty reliever Sam Hentges, who hasn’t thrown an MLB pitch since July 2024 because of shoulder and knee surgeries.

I’d take Ha-Seong Kim in a second.
The love for Kim is laughable. He’s a backup at best
Agreed he’s overrated at his price point
For 16-20 per year? No thanks. I’d rather use that for a more premium pitcher or right fielder.
A trade for Lowe seems plausible
A trade for Lowe is definitely plausible, but why would the Giants want to do that? His bat would be an upgrade over what they have, but Oracle is more pitcher-friendly and defense is important. Lowe is probably the worst defender at 2B in baseball. worst than Gleyber Torres, and they should avoid him for that reason as well.
A lot of work to do that’s for sure.
If the Giants truly dig around the discard pile for starters San Francisco fans will be pissed UNLESS they surprise us with a Bichette signing (which is unlikely for the reasons mentioned above.). This is an excellent off season to be looking for a solid starter or two and the Giants better use that to their advantage.
A bichette signing wouldn’t be as big a deal as something solid in the outfield or rotation. Both Schmitt and koss are passable at 2nd but the outfield and the rotation need serious work
Pete
I see Verlander and maybe Ponce or Giolito. Maybe they will extend Ray for a couple more years.
Let me know if you need help. I’ve watched a lot of cop shows on TV so I’m pretty much a fully qualified investigator at this point.
FTG
Well that was a depressing read.
He looks so happy in that picture.
Yes he does ! Positively exuding “I’ve got this covered”. Ha ha. Excellent image selection.
Giants just need a 2b, RF, LF, starting pitching and relief pitching. Shouldn’t be that tough to do.
I would add to that a centerfielder. Move Lee to left, trade Ramos and either trade for or sign a centerfielder. Lee has great speed but often gets a poor first jump and has a mediocre arm. We’ve all seen him make great plays but he graded poorly on most defensive metrics.
Ramos is decent offensively but I think he was rated as the worst Left fielder in baseball.
Being the worst left fielder in baseball, which Ramos was, means he is not decent defensively. He can hit pretty well though and with Devers at first most of the time, they need a DH.
As I said. Decent offensively, obviously not defensively.
That is our boy Eldridge. Hope it can lock it in.
Agreed. Eldridge’s future might be at DH unless he can get significantly better as a first baseman. Ultimately Devers can be an excellent first baseman. I’ve seen him make some nifty plays throwing to second but he has a ways to go before he knows which grounders to his right to let go and head for the bag.
But since DH is locked up I don’t see Ramos having a future with the Giants unless he can learn to go back on a ball in the outfield. He’s great coming in on balls but going back he’s almost comical. Which it too bad.
Lee has been rough. Would help if he could steal 25-30, but has been limited to single digits.
I don’t know that lee’s stealing is due to his skill level as much as it is the team in general. it is going to be interesting to see if we get a philosophy change because when you look, the giants as a team haven’t stole for a number of years now and it doesn’t seem like it is player driven
2025 – 29th
2024 – 29th
2023 – 30th
2022 – 22nd
2021 – 17th
2020 – 24th
2019 – 28th……
lee needs to move to a corner but I would put him in right. I would still move ramos if you could for a starting pitcher ( I would look at bubuc) but I think you can try one of your many OFs there including a luciano who is going to need to build some value if you are going to either keep him or move him to avoid a DFA.and a meckler who has been taking up roster space and needs to either get some time or get moved on from
I agree with everything except moving Lee to right. You need a good arm in right. While there is more outfield to roam in right (in SF) he would be handicapped with throws to third base.
Wilmer, You’re wrong about Lee having a mediocre arm. In fact, it’s one of his best assets. Look at his Baseball Savant page:
baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/jung-hoo-lee-…
His range isn’t good, but his arm value is in the 87th percentile, and his arm strength in in the 91st percentile.
I could see him moving to RF, but finding an upgrade in CF would be very difficult, and expensive. Not counting the catcher position, which is unique, CF is second only to SS in importance. There are glove-first guys that would be an upgrade defensively, but only if you’re willing to accept low offensive production from the position.
You’re right. 94.7mph average. That’s really strong. Right field it is then. Pretty much the only decent centerfielder available is Bader.
the thing about CF is that you have a ton of young guys that can play CF. you have gilbert, dean, mccray, weimer that can all play a better CF than lee and matos who has played CF but probably isn’t much of an upgrdade defensively
Wilmer, Lee has very good foot speed, so his bad range seems to be more about not getting good jumps. That seems like something he can improve on. Plus 2025 was a learning year for Lee, and I’d hate to see him have to start over learning a new position, but maybe he could handle that.
bag o ballz, The trouble with Gilbert, Dean, and McCray, is not only have they not shown much with the bat, they were downright awful at the plate. Weimer put up better numbers than those 3, but his 95 OPS+ was still shy of Lee’s 110 OPS+.
Indeed.
Probably just the Padres with a tougher job.
And all on a moderate budget. Hopefully Posey subscribes to the George Costanza school of thought, getting Bonds and Griffey and really not having to give up much.
Ramos can hit and we surely lack that with our OF. I wish Lee could be a legit leadoff but does not seem likely. I think that’s what we need more than anything can that be Donovan from the Cards?
I disagree. Ramos did hit initially, but had a mediocre 2025, and over the second half posted a line of .248/.316/.358 with an OPS of.674.
Kim or trade for Lowe if they go outside the org, but Giants should prioritize outfield and pitching. They should be ok with Schmitt or a utility player batting 8th at 2B.
So, they aren’t targeting any player.
I wouldn’t move off Schmitt. Give him a full season and he’ll hit 20+ homers in SF; the Giants can’t do better than that in free agency.
Lowe would be a mistake, same with Kim as his game has declined.
Bichette would be the only player worth getting as I think his game could fit the park well.
Don’t see Bichette joining Adames as the only major field players of note to join the team via FA in recent memory. Adames was long rumored to go to LA and that obviously didn’t happen. Even injured and unable to contribute at full capacity, Bichette got a solid taste of the postseason. Bo knows that ain’t happening in SF in 2026 or 2027 or 2028.
Buster should call the Nationals and inquire about the availability of 26yr 2B Luis Garcia, he has 2yrs of control left, or maybe Abrams but he would be expensive to acquire. Red Sox may also have a couple of players that could be interesting, 28yr David Hamilton with 4yrs of control or maybe 25yr Vaughn Grissom with 5yrs of control.
This is a better allocation of resources. As nice as it would be to have Bo hitting near the top, this team needs more to have a chance of competing, and Bo will def eat up a lot of their budget with needs in multiple positions.
The Giants don’t have the prospects to get Garcia without taking a step back.
Gnats have a couple players they are building around and one is Abrams.
Winter Meetings should provide some insight on the direction Giants FO is headed
Posey seems to be keeping his plans close to the chest. Hopefully he will surprise fans with unexpected transactions soon
Red Sox need a 1B, Giants need an Outfielder that could handle CF or RF plus a 2B, could Buster & Breslow get another blockbuster done centered around Eldridge & Duran + a 2B ?
And who is that 1B? Devers? Lol
Nvm, you already mentioned that 1B 😅
Roadtrip
Duran is a one year rental. Eldridge will not be traded any more than Anthony.
He has 3yrs of team control. He is signed for the ‘26 season and is still under control two more additional years – his 3rd & 4th arbitration years.
Eldridge for Duran is an interesting idea. Guess it comes down to how much the Sox would value Eldridge. Every team values players differently. Sox may be scared of him striking out to much.
Duran would be a good fit for the giants. More athletic player that would bring a different look.
Simm
Duran is a one year rental. Eldridge will not be traded any more than Anthony.
Duran isn’t a rental, he is controlled
For 3 more years.
Eldridge is not going anywhere.
Give Schmidt a full season at 2B. Fill the bullpen with our prospects and carry overs and maybe see if Birdsong can close. Sign Bader and Mullins and trade Eldridge and more if needed for an elite SP (Skubal & Skenes are dreams but Alcantara, Ragans, Peralta, and Ryan are attainable). Sign Scherzer or Kelly to fill out the rotation.
So same 2b, Bader for center isn’t a bad idea. Mullins looks toasted. Best bet on those pitchers you listed would be Alcantara. Fits aren’t great with the other teams and Ryan would likely cost more than Eldridge. Scherzer and or Kelly seem like very possible options.
Adding say Bader, Alcantara and Scherzer would improve the giants but I don’t think it’s enough.
Eldridge is also prob an overpay for Alcantara. I’d add Lopez to the list who should be easier to attain.
Someone else mentioned Eldridge for Duran which makes some sense for both teams. I’d do that if the Sox would. Then just sign a couple of pitchers plus badar. In my eyes they have to add a pen arm or two as well. The last spot I would be worried about is 2b. That position is pretty bad across the league.
Giants feel like a team that needs to push in their chips now. They have some big contracts for guys that are gonna age soon. Take advantage of the next few years of getting production from Willy and Chapman.
Sorry Birdsong can’t close. His stuff is just straight over the plate. He needs to learn to pitch still.
Why is anyone suggesting trading Eldridge. He is still the potential biggest best hitter we drafted since Will the Thrill…
ff, I can’t think of a worse trade for the Giants than Eldridge for Alcantara. No way would the Giants trade a top 20 prospect with 6 years of control, making league minimum, for a guy with only 2 years of control who’s owed $38M+
Simm, I agree Eldridge for Alcantara would be a huge overpay, but disagree about whether Eldridge is enough for Ryan. Steve Adams in a recent chat, suggested that Eldridge would definitely get the Twins’ attention, and would be the kind of return they’d be looking for.
Plus, Ryan is a solid SP, but not really an elite one. A 125 ERA+ last season (his best season), and a career 111 ERA+ doesn’t say ace to me. Plus he has only 3 years control compared to Eldridge’s 6. If the Giants were to trade Eldridge, Ryan would be about the level of return I’d expect, even if the they had to throw in a lottery ticket.
Jean- yeah I don’t disagree. I just don’t see the twins doing a 1-1 trade for Eldridge, as you said if they added a little more to the pot then it’s possible. It’s not just Ryan’s ability that makes him so valuable, it’s his contract which is way under market. Plus Eldridge while having a high upside does have a lower floor . Tall dudes tend to strike out a lot in the majors. I’ve also read some not so great reports on where he would play. Is he a DH, 1b or can he be moved to the outfield. If some team sees him as mainly a DH then his value drops some.
Anyways I definitely think him for Alcantara is an over pay. Some don’t even think Alcantara is even worth his current contract. The giants need offense just as bad as pitching in my eyes. They should keep him and platoon and devers at 1b/dh next season. If they think he can be a mid level LF they should see what that looks like as well. Though I prob wouldn’t do that next year. I’d let him try and settle in with the bat before adding anything new to his plate position wise. He does have the tools to be a real thumper in the middle of the lineup if he can put it all together.
I think the giants will sign a couple short term mid level pitchers. Count on Webb and Ray to anchor the top. I’d leave Schmidt at 2b (weak position in the league anyways). Then try and fix the outfield. Ramos is a good hitter but is a bad fielder. He would be a good DH, spot fielder. That doesn’t work though if Devers and Eldridge are mainly dh’ing. I’d prob trade him. Lee I’m not sure what you do with him. Lee looks like a good CF/leadoff guy but that hasn’t really panned out. Maybe he is more of a LF/8th hole hitter. A guy like Badar would be a good fit in center. No idea what you do in RF. Though I do think Duran is a perfect fit for the giants. I can see him running forever on balls to right field. If they could trade Eldridge for Duran I’d do it. Devers becomes the 1b, Ramos then could DH.
Duran
Badar
Devers
Chapman/willy
Willy/chapman
Ramos
Schmidt
Lee
Bailey
Still too many righties. If they could swap badar for bellinger that would balance the lineup but he is gonna cost. Or even better tucker and have Duran play center.
Along with Scherzer/kelly/Verlander types.
Plus a couple of pen arms. Perhaps a Fairbanks and another dude.
That’s a lot of money though and it’s hard to see the giants spending that much. The giants have some good players but have holes in every aspect of the game…position players, starters and relievers.
I agree with a lot of what you say, especially that they need to upgrade the hitting as much as the pitching. But I’d leave Lee in CF. 2025 was really his first year, and he had a lot to learn with pitchers, parks, the entire league actually. His range was bad, but he has well above average foot speed (70th percentile). So getting a better jump seems like the issue, and that’s something he can improve on. I could see him in RF because he has a great arm, but that would be starting all over learning a new position.
I disagree though that Ramos is a good hitter. Lee is a better hitter than him. Look at his Baseball Savant page:
baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/heliot-ramos-…
He’s regressed from his breakout, and judging by his below average marks hasn’t been able to make the adjustments. When a guy is below average in Barrels, Launch Angle, and Squared-Up, Chase, Whiff, K, and BB percentages, it tells me he’s struggling and not adjusting.
I like Bader for RF, but see Bellinger as fool’s gold. Bellinger and Yankee Stadium were made for each other, and the Giants wouldn’t get anywhere near that level of production from him.
I admit to being clueless about the pitching. If they’re ruling out signing a guy like Ranger Suarez, I don’t see this team getting very far, should they even be able to make the PS.
I actually agree with you on Bellinger.
If Ramos can’t hit then he is a completely used player.
Either way they need two outfielders.
Two starters
Two relievers
Otherwise they might as well pack their .500 bag again.
Ramos might be a completely useless player, but maybe not. My opinion on his hitting, or lack thereof, is more about his trade value, which I think is low.
But maybe there was a cause to his going in the tank. He didn’t hit for the last 4 months of the season, but 4 months is still a small sample.
He’s a problem, even if he starts to hit again, because of the horrendous D. There’s no room at DH. The best case scenario is he hits well in 2026 and they trade him to a hitting-needy team for a modest return.
I think some DH needy team maybe be willing to acquire him. His value isn’t very high so the giants can just keep him. I just don’t know where he plays if Eldridge makes and stays with the giants.
It’s just hard to see Ramos out in left again. Maybe he can get better idk.
So the Giants are gonna be 4th again.
Yuup.
Have the DBacks and Padres gotten better? Seems they both have lost players and arent locks to repeat their success next year. With 3 front end starters and this offense the Giants are good enough for the wild card next year.
It’s obvious that ownership is not focused on building a championship caliber roster that can compete with the Dodgers. More dumpster diving and mid level signings. Posey is a puppet just like Farhan was. 3 more years of .500 ball and Posey will be looking for a new job.
Or not. What exactly has ownership done that has led Giants fans to believe that they are players and looking to actually make the postseason, much less win a series or two? Devers? Hahahaha. Posey increasingly looking like Farhan/Kapler 2.0. As long as he looks good and toes the company line, he’ll stay in place since he’s a favored son. Puppet indeed. Pittsburgh West. Two historic franchises in horrible shape.
Agreed. Johnson & Co and the geeks on the ownership board are more concerned with their wallets. And Devers? Nobody wanted him and his contract. The Giants took the bait and paid the freight. Didn’t like the Posey hire from the get go. Might but the favored son in SF, but zero FO experience has him on the same trajectory as Jeter & Jordan in their post playing career FO aspirations.
Dude. Stop talking to yourself on the internet. It’s not healthy.
@RxDude97
If Cleveland can make it to the playoffs with a super cheap payroll, other teams are going to want to do that too. MLB gave the teams a reason to not do too much effort with all the additional playoff spots.
Realistically, who can compete with the Dodgers?
@Sadler
Blue Jays can. They just made some mental mistakes and beat themselves.
I would have thought I’d seen Jeff McNeil’s name in here on the trade market as well
I’m not a McNeil fan. There’s been rumors of friction with teammates, specifically with Lindor. He’s a guy with anger issues, who doesn’t seem to be able to maintain an even keel. Intense guys who can’t control their anger when they’re struggling really wears on teammates.
2026 Predicted Rotation:
Webb
Ray
Roupp
Ponce
Whisenhunt
Throw a trade guy in there. I’m pretty confidant Buster will use what he has and throw us a bone. He is in the memory making business.
I get that but sounds like he’s getting push back from higher up. On the trade front looks like too many teams with the same needs, pitching. Very few with arms available so they can get many intriguing offers. SFG has what to offer ?
A couple decent SS prospects, a couple out of options OFs, and a 1B / DH guy ?
Don’t see many matchups. The looming lockout buzz may be affecting this offseason for some teams, SFG probably.
Not expecting any major moves at this point. The writing is on the wall. I do think they still can compete if all goes well, even without major upgrades. Why ?
Because I’m a fan, and will enjoy the games regardless of the lineup.
The farm is mid fieldish so I’m sure they can put something together. They need pitching and I’m not sure Buster is the sit and be inactive type.
I agree. I fear that teams may be wary of dealing with Buster though. Harrison was touted as his best young starting pitching prospect, but now maybe just a relief guy. Basically the Sox got fleeced, but they will never admit it. I knew Roupp had passed Kyle up, pretty sure Buster did too. Still have hope, but this offseason seems weird to me for some reason. I hope I’m wrong.
Tucker, Valdez, Bichette, any one would be a dream.
Expensive signing: Kyle Tucker.
Cheap signing: Max Scherzer.
As a Nats fan… take Abrams (and move him to 2B) and Gore and give us all your prospects, starting with Eldridge. They are affordable for several years and talented, and the Nationals need high-end prospects more than major league talent right now.
Ideally I’m hoping Eldridge would net a few more years of good young pitching control than Gore, but yeah, something like that would be palatable for me.
Eldridge is not being traded…
Ok. In that case, they aren’t trading for a young starting pitcher of note. Mid priced FA’s it is.
Anyone who is paying attention to the NFL this year knows that it’s hard to predict next years performance based on this or last years. The parody in the NFL is greater than MLB but there is still plenty of parody every year. Let’s break it down:
Most people are assuming that players like Schmidt and Lee and Ramos wont improve next season after only playing less than 2 full seasons in the MLB. Plenty of players take a few years in the Majors to develop so there is probably just as good a chance that they improve and possibly break out than stay the same or decline. There are plenty of others with potential who are on the bubble and spring training will help shake things out.
People seem to forget that AZ traded away half their infield and lost 2 starting pitchers to free agency. The Padres also lost 2 really good SP’s and have done nothing with all the money they spent. There is no guarantee that either of these teams will be as good as they were last season.
Buster inherited a mess. The farm wasn’t strong and there was very little to build around and in one year he got Chapman to stay, signed Adames, and stole Devers from Boston. Farhan couldnt even get within sniffing distance of players of that caliber and Buster was able to land all 3 of them. There is plenty more work to be done but he isn’t finished by a long shot.
I do predict they make a trade for a front line SP before spring. With 3 very good starters and Roupp plus Kelly or Scherzer, they can win ballgames with this lineup and especially at home. Offseason has a ways to go but if you don’t see a path to the Giants making the playoffs with a few moves and the Padres and AZ having down years then make sure you say something at the end of the season when proven wrong!
Plenty of parody!
OK Giants fans…. What do you think??
The Giants need a makeover, and – with a new manager – this is the time for it to happen. Their primary needs are pitching, defense and speed. “Veteran presence” and “team chemistry” are also important with a new manager. They can address all of these areas, but need to be aggressive and make the following moves:
Trade Bryce Eldridge, Heliot Ramos & Carson Whisenhunt (throw in Luis Matos/Casey Schmitt if necessary or whomever else it takes) to the Twins for Joe Ryan – a northern California guy who they
will control for 2 years. They need to make this trade quickly or someone else will. Pitchers like Ryan don’t come around often.
Sign seven (7) free agents as follows:
Sign Ha-Seong Kim 2yr/32M to play 2B and reunite with his old friend Jung Hoo Lee. Kim is GG fielder who is an outstanding defender at any infield position, and a possible prolific base stealer.
Resign Mike Yastrzemski 1yr/11M (another veteran presence & excellent defender) to play RF. Move Lee to LF and try a platoon of Dean (fastest guy on the team), Gilbert (both excellent OF defenders) in CF
Sign the following starting pitchers:
Justin Verlander 1yr/20M
Zac Gallen 2yrs/44M (very familiar with NL West hitters)
Sign Adrian Houser (swing man) 1yr/8M
Sign/resign the following relief pitchers:
Tyler Rogers (RH) 2yrs/18M
Drew Pomeranz (LH) 1yr/2M
These moves would accomplish the following:
Improve the IF and OF defense
Improve team speed and SB capability.
Greatly improve starting rotation
Improve relief corps.
Do all of the above without spending a ton of money.
These seven signings would add around 90M to next year’s PR
Projected contracts (estimates from MLBTR, ESPN, the Athletic, Fangraphs, etc.)
Eldridge is not being traded. What is up with you people???
And why the F would they sign Yaz as a free agent. The dumbest idea you put out there. You are suggesting trading their best hitting prospect, their best pitching prospect and their best young hitter. Either stop taking your drugs or get back on your meds…
What I proposed would make them a much better team….
Eldridge and Whisenhunt have proven nothing so far (small sample granted), Ramos is still a ?? and a terrible fielder.
Joe Ryan is and Zac Gallen has been a star pitcher
Ha-Seong Kim is an established MLB GG infielder
Yastrzemski was WAY more valuable than Ramos last year.
The time for the Giants to win is NOW… if you can’t understand that… I can’t help you
I’m a big Yaz fan, but don’t want to see his return. He’s just a terrible fit for Oracle Park. I want to see him go to a team with a park better suited for him as a hitter.
HSK is way too expensive for a guy with so many question marks about his health.
Eldridge is a consensus top 20 prospect with tremendous power and 6 years of control. You’re vastly underrating his trade value. I wouldn’t mind if the Giants traded him for Ryan, but throwing in Whisenhunt and Schmitt/Matos would be a huge overpay for a guy with a career 111 ERA+
Plus Ramos has very little trade value. Adding him to any trade is not moving the needle. A poor OF that hasn’t been able to hit much since last May isn’t getting the Giants much in trade.
Unless it is Bichette there is no reason to bring anyone else in, give Schmitt & Fitz the opportunity to earn it during Spring Training.
Giants should be focusing on the Pitching Staff, they need top of Rotation Starters to go along with Webb, and a number of spots need to be filled in the Bullpen.
Buster looking like his idol Gavin Newsom.
