We’ll track the latest minor moves right here…
- The Reds released left-handed reliever Clay Zavada earlier this week, according to the transactions page at CBSSports.com. The 27-year-old posted a 3.35 ERA with 52 strikeouts in 51 innings as a rookie with the 2009 Diamondbacks, but hasn't appeared in the Major Leagues since. He signed a minor league deal with the Reds over the winter after spending the 2011 season at Double-A and posting a 3.43 ERA with 6.9 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9 in 60 1/3 innings of relief.
He may want to look like Rollie Fingers, but with his pitching he doesn’t even come close to a diet Coke version of Rollie Fingers…
Well neither does Kevin Gregg for that matter and you don’t see that overpaid bum getting his release. If anything the Orioles media is saying how much he’s improved since last season.
Since when did Gregg ever rock the handlebar?
I thought you were talking about talent level as well.
Plus, I wanted to take a shot at Gregg anyway…
Any connections with Clay Rapada haha ?
You say Rapada, I say Zavada
I say Zavada, you say Rapada
Rapada, Zavada, Rapada, Zavada
Who cares, they both stink
This is an obvious move to clear up a good amount of payroll to help pay the $225M and $72M contracts the Reds just agreed to with Votto and Phillips.
I’m sure it is.
