Why would the Padres trade their 2B of the present and future + more for a 30 y/o?
For.a.sure.thing.
1. Urias has more upside and the Padres can afford to wait it out.
2. Merrifield isn’t a sure thing. He’s 30. Aka in his decline years.
3. The Royals are attached to their hometown heroes the way the Giants were the last couple years. The Padres don’t need to pay a premium for that, which is exactly what it would take for the Royals to actually trade Whit.
How is Whit not a sure thing at this point? He’s cheap and more than proven himself. Just wondering your basis behind your statement.
Like I said. He’s 30. In other words, in his decline years. Whoever trades for him is getting what he will do, not what he has done.
Anyone know when the next chat will be? This is the most recent chat I could find and it was 5 days ago. Don’t they do at least 3 or 4 a week? I thought they always did Saturday or Sunday chats at least and now it is almost 8:00 pm EST on Sunday and still no chats for five days. If anyone can tell me whether or not there will be a chat this weekend (which would have to be today), what time the next chat would be and if there is any tentatively known chat schedule? I would love to hear it. Thanks for the help if anyone can provide it.
What about the consideration that should be floating to Mike Soroka for ROY? At least a few glances.
Not sure why Steve holds a chat he seems annoyed at 75% of the questions asked.
