Minor MLB Transactions: 6/7/21

By Mark Polishuk | June 7, 2021 at 9:59pm CDT

The latest minor moves from around baseball…

  • Reds righty Hector Perez cleared waivers and was outrighted off their roster, Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer tweets. Perez, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Sunday, had been in limbo since the Reds designated him on June 2. He began this year by pitching to a 9.35 ERA in 8 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level before his designation.

Earlier:

  • The Red Sox outrighted Colten Brewer to Triple-A after the right-hander cleared waivers.  Brewer was designated for assignment last Thursday.  After a pretty solid 2019 season out of Boston’s bullpen, Brewer has struggled to a 6.75 ERA in 26 2/3 frames over the last two years, including a single inning of work this season that saw him allow four earned runs.

Damn, I was hoping another team would take a chance on him so he could get out of the Boston organization. Even his “success” in 2019 was hard to watch.

Because he did so much better in SD? (5.59era, 2.28whip). Why would this be the “boston organization”‘s fault?

Pretty solid 2019? Who were you watching Mark? He was a horror show then and only got worse – both in thr majors and in AAA.

What a horrible birthday present for young Hector! A quarter of a century old and this is the gift he receives? I would consider boycotting the Reds for this, but I’ve never heard of Hector Perez before today.

He was horrible. Maybe a change of scenery would help, like finding a desk job somewhere

He was????? He barely pitched. It’s one thing for an organization to be knee jerk given the rules. But what is with all the fans coming on here acting as if they know a player when they barely saw him????

This got 2 likes? Are you trying to be funny???? I just don’t get it. What’s the point of a comment like this?

Jeimer Candelerio also to the bereavement list. Issac Paredes called up to fill in.
