Yep! That is definitely a team friendly contract. Would have loved him here in Cincy.

Guessing 2 years at 12 mil per, with team option on 3rd year

No chance. He’s openly said he doesn’t want to play more than 2 years. No way there’s a third year team option. I’m certain he did better than 12 per as well.

It’s the rays…. how much can they pay out? Anyway, so maybe not a 3rd year, but 12 mil a year is probably pretty close. What do you think he gets?

Much like March Madness, it’s time to rip up your bracket. You aren’t coming back.

Up above I guessed 2 at 24 mil plus a team option for a 3rd. He just came off a deal making 14 mil in last year of contract, and hes improved last 3-4 years consecutively. I think your pretty close on your guess.

Nice move for the Rays. Gives them another guy with nasty stuff who can give them some form of length. They’re going to be fun to watch this year as they continue to tinker with a combo of traditional starters and openers.

Now a report they are circling back on Realmuto. If this teams signs Morton, Cruz and aquires jt that’s a hell of a team

Rays always making smart low cost investments i mean everyone though they were rebuilding last year and they still won 90 games even trading Archer in the process.

Archer is like a 3-4 starter, so that wasn’t a huge loss. I do admire the way the Rays run their franchise though.

Good for the Rays. At least a couple organizations aren’t trying to make these winter meetings another laughing stock. No action. The sport needs teams to sell intrigue, that’s why the NBA and NFL are so popular right now because it’s year around.

People watch a bunch of 6’5, 300 LB men run around in underwear working out while the NFL is in it’s offseason because it creates year around buzz which is great for the game.

Seeing these stalemate offseason’s sucks for the fans. Because at the end of the day, that’s what it is all for.

Hopefully Morton kicks something off here..

I don’t think Morton signing a 2/30 really gets your average guy all jacked up about baseball.
