Remember the good old days when the host would chat for an hour? 40 minutes today. Boy you sure can tell who likes to do these chats and who doesnāt! Mark P. routinely goes 1.5-2 hours, while Steve and some others always seem anxious to end it as soon as possible.

Someone didn’t get their question answered.
Idk know Steve personally but dude probably has a family or other responsibilities to take care of.
Not that big of a deal man.
KCJ
Dude if it was a one time thing…no big deal. This is the same story EVERY SINGLE TIME though. Itās just nice to know when someone actually enjoys chatting with us rather than making us feel like itās a chore. Sorry you donāt understand
HubcapDiamondStarHalo
It’s a FREE perk offered by a FREE site. Sorry you don’t understand.

I understand people have other responsibilities in life. If 40 mins is all he can commit it’s better than nothing and not having a chat.
Enjoy it for what it is instead of complaining what it isn’t.
If you prefer other guys who chat longer than wait to chat with them. I don’t get complaining and whining about this.
It’s a free chat session lmao. I seriously don’t get complaining about something that’s completely free.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. This is getting us nowhere.

Wow, a whole 40 minute chat. Don’t work too hard there.
HubcapDiamondStarHalo
Wow. Amazing how some spoiled-to-hell humans will stomp their little foot and BPM when they don’t get what they feel they are privileged to receive…
What the heck. Give this little guy his money back.
Melchez
It was Steve Adams… it felt like 2 hours.

If the season is cancelled, will some players lose option years? Will players that were going to be eligible for selection in the Rule 5 draft next winter still be eligible? Will the draft order be the same in 2021 as in 2020?

When will then be now?

Tell me if you like my idea for a new MLBTR series commenters: What teams have spent the most money each for the past ten years in free agency, and what was their record the upcoming season. Good idea?
dynamite drop in monty
Sounds rad!
hOsEbEeLiOn
Eh. I’d prefer reading how teams choose to develop hitters and pitchers in the minors. Who’s been good at it and why.
Id also like to see secondary coaches and their impact on teams, mainly pitching coaches and their effectiveness.
Growing up a Padres fan Darren Balsley was a pitcher whisperer. Now that Larry Rothschild is manning the position id love some background on his successes, his style of pitching, and such. How many became top prospects and such.
Or a breakdown of teams IFA spending the last 10 years. Who they signed, who made it, who didn’t make it, and if any became top prospects at one point or another.

Fraggle stick car!

It would be cool to see what rosters would look like if players hadn’t been traded or left as free agents. That would take some time to put together, but it would be interesting to see.

“Some people will treat [a 2020 World Series championship) with an asterisk just because of the shortened nature of the season.”
I think Steve is correct, but I’m curious – does anyone remember if there was similar reaction to the ’81 Dodgers or the ’95 Braves? I know that in ’81 there was controversy over the Reds missing the playoffs despite having the best overall record in the NL West, but I don’t get the sense that people viewed the Dodgers’ title as having an asterisk. But in the ’81-’82 offseason, was that a different story?
I don’t remember there being any asterisk talk when the Braves won in ’95, but I wasn’t following baseball very closely in the mid-90s.

There werr zero qualms about the Braves winning in 95 as I recall, but that makes sense for a few reasons: 1) only 18 games were lost, all in April; 2) ATL won the division by 21 games (yikes!) — best record in NL, second only to CLE; and 3) they had a star-studded roster for multiple years, buttressing the francise’s bonafides.
I was too young to remember ’81. Though I’ve always thought my beloved Brewers would have a second WS appearance if that year wasn’t so wonky.
MWeller77
Cool, thanks for the input! That makes sense. I kinda drifted away from baseball around the time of the strike and I didn’t really pick it up again till I went to college in ’97 and had a roommate who was still a fan. And I was 4 when the Dodgers won in ’81. Brewers in ’82 v. STL is actually my first really strong baseball memory š
