I like the expanded playoff a lot but I like to give more incentive to the top 4 teams in each league because they deserve it after 162 games.
So the first round, wildcard round would only be 2 games.
Both games being played at higher seeds ballpark.
But the catch is the home team only needs to win one game while the away team has to win both games.
Wild cars round is 2 games
Division round is 5
League championship is 7
World Series is 7
Kumar Rocker is the guaranteed #1 pick.
Two comments. One, Tim Anderson should get some MVP votes. He is an electric offensive player, probably winning his second consecutive batting title, and has shown defensive improvement. His production directly impacts Abreu’s RBI total, and it looks likely they will win their division. IMHO, they don’t w/o Anderson.
Second, Paxton (Big Maple) to Twins next year. They will have payroll space and have needed a nasty lefty starter for years. S Diamond, M Perez and R Hill didn’t do it. Good hunting and fishing there (and so close to Canada!), and probably rotation room if Odorizzi and/or Berrios are gone.
Well…Toronto also makes sense for Pax, for veteran leadership on a very talented young team. Hope he gets healthy this winter.
