Will the Cardinals “actually spend a little money this off-season?”

    LOL

What, they got Goldschmidt and Arenado at the discount bin of a second hand store?

The Cardinals are trying to be the Yankees of the NL. They keep taking on salary to win.

You are such a clown. Top 2 biggest idiots of this site are you and the Mets War turd. The level of narcissism for you guys to comment on every article, and think everyone wants to see your 9 paragraph comments that never amount to anything, is crazy. Less is more, you boring moron.

Mets War tends to be fine and has gotten better IMHO, this guy is just annoying.

MetsWAR is better than the account they are parodying alone.

          @ DarkSide830;

          No problem.

Thought you could keep up. My bad.

And there’s only one of me. And very few on here that like to talk baseball vs. statistics and salaries. Just look at a spreadsheet. They never lie.

Not here to bicker, just interjecting that I believe Mets WAR is a parody account. Taking this into account, I find his takes quite funny. That is all, at ease gentlemen.

I was of the belief that is who MetsMissedWAR was parodying, which is hilarious because of MetsFan’s ineptitude at reality. I could be wrong on all fronts but that’s how I read it and it’s all hilarious.

        That was 4 short paragraphs.

Did you find that too challenging to comprehend? Hummmm……

For a little bit, I thought his posts were some kind of next level trolling ****. How can someone be so wrong so often? & who can hammer out that many words with such frequency?

Sadly, I was probably giving him too much credit. I think he’s just another old dude lashing out because he doesn’t understand modern baseball tactics, strategy, & economics.

Which is all just so mundane, boring, & predictable.

Why even suggest a trade using Jasson Dominguez, Deivi Garcia, and Clarke Schmidt for Luis Castillo? That is just way too much. Evan Pereira, Oswald Peraza, Michael King Deivi Garcia or Luis Gil could definitely bring Castillo to NY. Prospects like Dominguez or Volpe are going nowhere. The Yankees have ZERO interest in trading them. Smh

The Reds definitely need an outfielder in return for Castillo. As a Yankees fan how good is Florial? It seems like his batting average regressed the last 2 years in the minors. Looks like if a trade happens it is going to be for quantity and not quality. I also like both Garcia and Gil.

Dodgers have a few. Lux and Raley and hmmm Miller (pitcher) for Castillo and Gray or is that too little for the pair of pitchers

Too little for both players. The Reds do not need anymore middle infielders. Raley because of age does not seem to be a front line prospect that the Reds need in 23. Miller looks to be a great prospect as well as with Pages.

    Sorry……

The Cincinnati Reds payrolls from 2017 to 2021:

    $93.7 m (25th in MLB payroll)
    $101,1m (22nd)
    $106.4m (15th)
    $53.3 (COVID shortened season – (17th)
    $118.7m (17th)

They did not just spend in one year. They increased in the last 4. And they outspent their 25th ranked market in all years.

The Reds problem had to do with not bringing up enough young players from their farm system, finding inexpensive players on the waiver wire and in trade, and coaching them all up.

So many people have no clue with trade proposals. The Blue Jay proposal to the Guardians in this chat was so bad.

Matt Olson and Sean manea to the cards for a package centered around Dylan Carlson, liberatore? With bader ranging center it’ll help with Olson’s lessened range but the guy is a good glover I’m sure he’d do okay. Only question would be his arm.

You want to put Olson in the outfield for the first time in five years? I don’t see that happening, nor this trade idea.

How many more years do the Angels have to go without making the playoffs before Mike Trout finally requests a trade?

As a baseball fan, I definitely wanna see Mike Trout play some playoff baseball, but no one made him sign that extension. He could have had the largest contract in history, pretty much anywhere he chose to go. He chose poorly. He’ll get his 1/2 a billion dollars and his hall spot, but the postseason accolades will belong to his peers.
