On the MLB Trade Rumors podcast, we’ll frequently answer questions from our readers and listeners. With the next episode set for Wednesday, we’re looking for MLBTR’s audience to submit their questions and we’ll pick a few to answer.
Regular season baseball will arrive this week and all teams will have started their season by the end of next week but the offseason business is not yet completed with plenty of notable free agents still unsigned. If you have a question about a recent transaction, a future transaction or anything else related to the offseason or upcoming season, we’d love to hear from you! You can send your questions to mlbtrpod@gmail.com.
Also, if you want to hear your voice on the podcast, send us your question in audio form and we might play it. iPhone users can find instructions on how to do so here.
In the meantime, don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

With the “non-signing” of several credible players, are we seeing a new paradigm emerge as to the way a specific type of player is valued by the market, or is this some indicia of a more secular move anyway?

Or it’s just about money. At $30M plus, is Snell worth $2M a win? Or as Billy Beane played it in Moneyball when replacing Jason Giambi, you look for two or three players to get the same metrics for half the price. Snell may have been 14-9 but the Pads were 17-15 in his starts. Can you do better with a bullpen game? Get yourself 8-9 pitchers to throw 3-4 innings. Let your relievers do the rest. How much $ do you save?

Are you guys going to give predictions on the season? You have no problem predicting salaries and free agents signings, but when you are asked to predict the season outcomes you act like it’s beneath you.

They’re making season predictions just before (the non-Korean) Opening Day.
