White Sox Outright Zach Remillard

By Anthony Franco | June 6, 2024 at 7:18pm CDT

The White Sox have outrighted infielder Zach Remillard to Triple-A Charlotte, tweets Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. He cleared waivers after being designated for assignment on Tuesday.

Remillard has gone unclaimed on outright waivers twice this season. Chicago sent him through waivers in April, reselected his contract a couple weeks later, and again DFA him a month after that. The 30-year-old utilityman has played in 15 MLB games this season. He’s hitting .242/.342/.333 with five walks and 10 strikeouts over 39 plate appearances. Remillard has taken 79 trips to the plate in Charlotte, turning in significantly worse numbers. He owns a .114/.192/.157 slash line in 19 Triple-A contests.

A former 10th-round pick out of Coastal Carolina, Remillard has spent his entire career in the Sox organization. He could elect free agency, but he accepted an outright assignment in April. A rebuilding White Sox team could afford him the best path back to the majors later in the season. Chicago is likely to trade shortstop Paul DeJong at some point. Neither Nicky Lopez nor Lenyn Sosa has provided much offensively at second and third base, respectively.

I’m starting to be really impressed with the White Sox. They are on the right track

Give them credit. Tonight they discovered 3b Danny Mendick may also be their best reliever, despite having 40mph velocity.

Next should be White Sox outright Pedro Grifol and the entire coaching staff.

Any manager minus Pedro wouldn’t do better with this disaster.

That may be true but it doesn’t change the fact that Pedro is a lousy skipper.

I thought this was a Zack Remillard post, but hey any time knuckleheads can three some dirt, why not. Right?

Don’t know what they are waiting for. Pedro should have been fired January 15th.

What team is trading for Paul Dejong? What contender is looking for a guy whose OBP is like .275? Striking out over 30% and walking like 4% of the time. And this is the dude in hot streak because his slugging carries his ops+…and it’s barely above average because of this years low offensive production so far.

He will crater eventually. Nobody should be buying on dejong.

So all he’s done is play strong defense and hit for power? Yes, he’s probably going to crater, but I can see why some teams would take a chance on him.

He’s not playing great defense.his fielding runs above average are negative.

He’s actually below average defensively this year. Which is unlike him.

          ABC,

I admit I didn’t look at his defensive numbers for this season since he’s usually had a strong glove. Typically, a couple of months isn’t much to go on, but he’s been plenty bad this year. Maybe he’s getting to the end of the line as a major leaguer.

Sox trade Luis Roberts I’m done IDK if the Reds or Orioles give up 5 top prospects. I won’t be able to stand watching him put up MVP numbers. The Sox will get a handful of Moncada’s, probably throw in a player to be named later turn out to be like Tatis.

Especially given how many significant injuries are occurring around the league. You could do a lot worse than DeJong. I’ve watched him all year, and honestly, he might be the best position player on the White Sox. (I don’t count Robert, Moncada or Eloy. Play more than 40% of a season and you can be considered a MLB player)

Girifol has got to go. Look he’s not the main problem, But it should be obvious to even Stevie Wonder that he’s not the solution either. Bring on an interim and start looking now. Get a head start on something for once.

Remember the A’s were 13-50 today last year. At some point they have to start winning eventually. The A’s finished 2023 with 50-112, that will most likely happen with the Wsox this season.

How many games you played in MLB? better question is how often does mommy let you out of your room? I bet you a hellva MLB The Show player right? Kinda childish to call a MLB player stupid, when mommy don’t let you play outside.

The GM Chris Getz is responsible for this disaster, but it’s part of Reinsdorf’s master plan. Gut the team of payroll, stock up on MiLB players, ask for a new stadium from a state that you screwed over last time on getting a new stadium. Get denied, cry to MLB to allow the team to move and sell.

    Dear Sir:
The White Sox legal team will be contacting you to buy the rights to own your comment The team needs a new Statement of Purpose, and yours fits perfectly.

(p.s. Because it’s the Pale Hosers, expect a lowball offer.)
